I can't get off Sucks recently.
I had hopslam last year on tap and I thought it was underwhelming. It's coming to NYC this week so I'm going to give it another go.
One thing I'm definitely doing this summer before I head west is taking a trip for some heady topper.
It was no Pliny, but still great IMO.
Yeah, I want to get some Heady Topper too. Do you think you'll be going to the brewery itself or just some place in Vermont that has it?

Had a Dale's Pale Ale today. That had wonderful notes of battery acid that hit you real good right in the back of the throat. Then I had a Lagunitas Lil Sumpin' Sumpin'. That tasted like chewing on an orange, no, grapefruit rind. IPAs are so gross
I did have a couple Yards Brawlers, those were very tasty.

I'm shocked that Weber started this thread!! When I first got out of college I was all about the IPA's, the hoppier the better. I still drink them on occasion, but no where near my favorite style.
Having said that, I would say that Devils Backbone 8 pt IPA is fantastic! I'm also a big fan of Founders All Day IPA. I feel like both of these brews give you that hop smell and taste without overpowering you with it.

I just picked up some Founders All Day IPA when I was in Richmond this weekend. That's a great session IPA.
I, too, was all about the IPAs when I first got into craft beer. I've moved on to some other styles, but after awhile, I just crave that citrusy, hoppy, refreshing taste.
I think Heady Topper is the best IPA i've ever had. Pliny was extremely underwhelming. It was super balanced, but that's not really what I want from my IPA. It wasn't aggressive enough at all.
As far as local stuff, Flying Dog's single hop stuff that they pour in their taproom is great. They had a Citra one over the summer that was awesome. And "The Truth" is really damn good too.

It's not a traditional IPA, but I'd highly recommend Boulevard's 80-Acre. It's got a really weird taste because they essentially combined an IPA with a wheat beer. I don't like IPAs, I prefer malt flavors over hops, but 80-Acre is one of my favorites right now. It's got a nice citrus note, but isn't overly hoppy, and the wheat beer notes make it go down smooth.

I'm a huge fan of Cask conditioned IPA's. You still get that great hop taste, but it's so much smoother. On a related note Frisco Tap House has Nugget Nectar on Tap and Cask, I may have to head over there this weekend...

75 Min on cask is great.

Yeah, that's a solid beer. I gave it a 4 out of 5 on Untappd.

A couple of months ago I brewed homebrew a clone of NN that my dad and I put together. Best beer I have made so far. I can throw you recipe if interested.

My homebrewing time is little and less, but send me the recipe if you get the chance. If I don't brew it I can always get a friend of mine to brew a batch. Thanks!

Kelly and I had Bells Hopslam today for the first time. Pretty damn good!
Picked up a 6 pack of Hopslam last Friday. You were only allowed to purchase one six pack, course at the price I paid that's all I was going to get. With tax that set me back 27 bucks!

That's the first time I've ever had one before. I may have had a small taste one time, but I don't remember that. I've only had 1 so far but I was pretty impressed. I don't know if I was 27 dollars impressed, but it's a solid Double IPA. Didn't pick up on the honey much at all. One of the best qualities I was impressed with was how well it hid the alcohol. If I didn't see the label I never would've thought that it's 10%. I'll probably be having another one this weekend.

Good Dog. Didn't have to get here early either to get a ticket.
