He likely was told he was not going to start (or even be the back-up with a chance to compete), and elected to go somewhere we could play his Senior year. I can't blame him.

I still believe that there is ability there, but doesn't look good that he's left two schools. Know Wisconsin's line was not as good last year, as it has been previously; but it was still Wisconsin. DOB has to take blame for his own lack of performance.

Seemed like a good kid. I'm sure this isn't how he saw his career going after all the success he had as a Freshman.

Quitter.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

Looks like his only move is to go to FCS. Too bad things haven't worked out for him.

Quitter.

Can't tell if this snark. He's got one year of eligibility left, if you were him and were likely the 3rd string at best, would you just stay?

The more and more I look at it, and Zack mentioned this on Twitter, he seems like a one year wonder. His freshman year he looked great. How much of that was do to Torrey Smith?

Obviously having a Smith helps, but wasn't like he made his name on a strong arm, and hitting bombs to Smith down the field. He made his name by showing an ability to read defenses, and make quick decisions as he progressed through receivers.

Does Delaware need a QB?

I was always of the opinion, during and after his sophomore season, that DOB simply wasn't the guy we thought he was after his freshman year.  I remember quite a lot of folks getting all over Edsall for his handling of O'Brien, but he simply wasn't good here during his sophomore year.  This would certainly seem to be some validation for Edsall.

I did think he'd have more success than he did at Wisconsin, but that whole team just never really got going last year, and a lot of the problems that he had here were on display there.

I haven't even heard of the school he is transferring too. Just your typical progression of an ACC Freshman of the Year.

Wish him nothing but the worst.

Why? Because he left the Terps after things with Edsall didn't work out?

Do you spread the hate equally among other guys like Max Garcia, RJ Dill, DJ Adams, etc? Just curious.

Nope.  None of them were team leaders.  None of them exploited the school's UA connections either.

He's a tool.

In that case, do you have the same venom towards coaches (the real team leaders) who leave their school before their contract is up for what they see as a better job, among them Randy Edsall? As for the Under Armour thing, while his football connections no doubt helped, an internship resides more on the academic side of the house....and in that regard O'Brien met his commitment to UM by earning his degree.
