Had the University of Maryland (16-14, 6-10) won their recent games at Georgia Tech, and vs. Virginia; the talk leading up to the beginning of the ACC Tournament, would be asking if the Terps could play their way into the National Tournament. Unless the Terrapins win all four games in Atlanta, they will not be dancing in the NCAA's. Even the NIT seems like a long-shot at this point.

So, where does that leave you? It should leave you playing for today, and attempting to extend your season to tomorrow.

Maryland starts the ACCT at noon, against the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest (13-17, 4-12). These teams last faced off January 11th (a 70-64 MD win), in a game that feels like it occurred several years ago. In that game, MD probably played their best 20 minutes of basketball this season, in the first half, as they grabbed a 40-24 lead. The Terps finished with only 8 turnovers, and won on the boards 40-35. Stoglin had 20 points, Mosley had 15, and Pankey had one of his better games with 9 points, and 9 boards. One of the only real negatives was that the Terps had 11 of their shots blocked.

Since playing MD, Wake has gone 3-11.
In their last 3 games, they blew-out Boston College (85-56), came back and made it competitive in a loss (79-71) against Duke, and lost at Georgia Tech 69-62.

WF enters the game:

224th overall in PPG: 65.6
277th overall in Rebonds: 32.3
265th overall in Assists: 11.7
208th overall in FG%: .428

MD enters the game:

173rd overall in PPG: 68.2
66th overall in Rebonds: 36.7
323rd overall in Assists: 10.4
235th overall in FG%: .423

CJ Harris (6'3 Jr. Guard) continues to lead the team in scoring at 16.8 ppg. He also averages 3.1 boards, and 2.5 assists. On 3.8 3pt attempts per game, Harris is shooting 43%. He was held to 10 points in the loss against MD.

Travis McKie (6'7 Soph. F) is 2nd in scoring at 15.9 ppg. He also averages 6.9 boards. Against MD, he went for 25 and 7.

Harris was named 3rd team All ACC, Mckie was Honorable mention.

Sophomore Center Carson Desrosiers has shot 7 of 13 from 3 point land the past 4 games.

The winner will earn the opportunity to play UNC tomorrow.

Good start for the Terps, jumping out to a 12-7 lead.

Faust had had a nice jumper from the foul line, and Len was rewarded for running the floor, with a pass which he finished with a big slam.
