Kelly and I were planning on doing what we had planned for 2020, which was South Africa, Mozambique, and Victoria Falls, but sadly that doesn't seem like a good idea this summer.
So thinking of doing something in the Caribbean, Iceland, and some domestic stuff.
Any Caribbean suggestions? Looking for something more low-key with some good snorkeling/diving.
And of course, what are y'all planning?

Aruba more deserty vs Tropical and outside Caribbean, but big fan. There is snorkeling and diving available.
Heard good things about Iceland.

My family had a trip planned to England in August as a combined college grad gift for me and HS grad gift for my sister so I guess we'll try to look into that again this year

St Lucia. I went diving there once and it was pretty nice. And if diving is going to be one of your main activities, and the western side of the Caribbean is ok, you can never go wrong with Belize.

Thanks.
Those are two that I was considering. Saint Lucia is more expensive in regards to flights and probably with the lodging too, but it does look really nice.

Disney/Universal take two. This was supposed to happen last June. We are now going this June. As well as my family, my sis and her kids and my parents are going as well. My kids are really looking forward to this one.
In October my wife and I have a wedding in Vermont. We already booked our hotel room, since we are going to be in the area we decided to make it a longer trip. After the wedding we are heading back to one of our favorite places (the Adirondacks). We've already got a place lined up in Lake Placid. This trip is kid free. Looking forward to some hiking and drinking some good beer.

We have 2 cruises from last year. If I get my vaccines, which hopefully will start in the next week or two, I will be going.
We went to Siesta Key in Florida last year, and will go again this year, but not sure when. Once I get the vaccines, I am going back to living my life.

Wanted to do Siesta Key/Sarasota in March -- I have it booked (refundable) and don't see myself going.
Wanted to do Dallas in April for the O's game at the Rangers' new ballpark. I give this a 50/50 shot.
Want to do Vegas and Chicago this fall for Ravens road games. I think both of these will happen.
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

Not counting on things being too open this summer, things should be getting better, but, to the point of being in crowds.
Should be able to get out and about more for sure.

Got married in St Thomas and it was incredible by every measure. Unfortunately they got ransacked by a hurricane and I'm unsure if things got all of the way back to the way it was.
My coworker went to Iceland and they have those...ice hot springs? I can't remember what they're called but pretty much hot springs surrounded by the cold. Sounds fantastic, and she loved it, so I guess I'd suggest that, too.
Our plan, for now (assuming I get the vaccine and my wife gets her surgery), is two-fold:
1) Jamaica in the summer
2) Vegas in the fall (whenever the Ravens play)

If you want to travel and stay within the US. Its hard to beat OAHU and Hawaii. Been 10 years since I was last there, but i doubt its changed too much.

Because yeah, this is a year we can start traveling again! At least to some places, and with some restrictions.

Curacao. Went May 2019, favorite island in the Caribbean by far and the water is the clearest I've seen in the Caribbean (we've been to Bahamas, Mayan Riviera 3x, Dominican Republic 2x, Antigua, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Guadeloupe, Cozumel). I just don't know if they're open to US citizens yet. Airfare is a little pricey but you can rent a place and a car for pretty cheap. Actually renting a car there was one of the easiest and most pleasant experiences of the trip. PM me if you want recommendations.
We had a trip to Aruba planned for last April that got canceled. Looking forward to going there but I think I'd rather just go back to Curacao.
Cozumel is also solid for diving. Again, flights can be pretty pricey, but renting a car is cheap and easy. Again, PM me for recommendations.

Wife and I were looking at some pictures from our trips over the years last weekend. Not traveling has been the toughest thing of COVID for us. Our last trip was Crete, Naxos and Santorini in September 2019 and it was our favorite ever. We're seriously considering making Greece our first trip once we feel comfortable to travel again. For our money, it's the most beautiful place we've been to. And, once you get there, very cheap.

Travel planning for this year is still pretty difficult due to COVID, which shouldn't be surprising, but it still sucks. Like a fair amount of the Caribbean islands are either not allowing people from the US or have some pretty stringent restrictions. I got excited about the prospects of Dominica, but they're requiring a quarantine so that's out. So good for these islands that are taking it seriously, but not great for vaccinated person that would like to start traveling again.

I believe Maryland is still on restricted traveling, if you travel outside the state, you have to test and self quarantine when you return.

I don't mind that at all. I actually support it. The issue for me is if I am going to go somewhere and spend good money to do so, I don't want it to be overly compromised by the pandemic. I also don't want to go somewhere that's just doesn't give a you know what. So not easy. I think Iceland seems like a good happy medium for this summer.

We rented an OBX beach house last summer, stayed in our bubble, brought food with us, ordered food in, as if we was home, had a pretty much empty beach to walk out too, or swim in the private pool.
Might have to repeat that for this summer.
Hoping to take the grandkids to Disney at some point in 2022 or beyond
