Ohio State is 3-0...

Beat Nebraska 52-17

Beat Penn State 38-25

Beat Rutgers 49-27

They are 3rd in ESPN's Power Rankings:
https://www.espn.com...ankings-week-10

Through three games, Justin Fields has been about as perfect as it gets when it comes to playing quarterback. The 6-foot-3, 228-pound junior accounted for six touchdowns -- five passing and one rushing -- in Ohio State's 49-27 victory Saturday over Rutgers. Fields finished 24-of-28 passing and was completing 87.3% of his passes entering the game. The final score was a bit misleading. Ohio State led 42-9 heading into the fourth quarter.

Again, my hope is for the game to be competitive.   If Maryland can do that, it is another sign of progress.

Looks like their defense is a tad susceptible. If MD can at least move the ball, they could keep the game interesting. Expecting a lopsided loss, open to being surprised.

The scores of their games look closer because they surrender points after the outcome has already been determined. If the offense can look like a Big Ten caliber group and have a respectable day where they move the ball and with few mistakes/turnovers, I'll be pleased.

I'm not holding out any hope at all that we will see a repeat of yesterday's defensive performance. While the coverage and pass rush were great, they were also helped a lot by Clifford's awful accuracy. Keeping OSU under 50 might be the best we can hope for.

The only change to this week's depth chart is the addition of Austin Fontaine, who is now listed as a co-backup at both LG and RG.

Have a hunch he'll be tougher to stop than Sean Clifford

UMTerps: Maryland Football Pauses Team Activities

https://umterps.com/...activities.aspx

Maryland Football will pause all team-related activities due to an elevated number of COVID-19 cases within the Terrapin's program. The Ohio State game scheduled for Saturday, November 14 has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

The joint decision to pause football activities and cancel Saturday's game was made by Director of Athletics Damon Evans and University of Maryland President Darryll Pines, following a recommendation from University health officials, and in consultation with the Big Ten Conference. Over the past seven days, eight football players have tested positive for COVID-19.

What's the number of games postponed/cancelled this weekend? Feels like it's around 10, at least.

Big Ten didn't build in a bye week.  Week after the end of the regular season is the Big Ten Championship.

This is getting really bad. Sports might be done for a while

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Yeah starting to get that vibe. When the NFL started making playoff plans assuming the reg season didn't get finished it was a red flag. Now you see games getting cancelled in all sports left and right.

I think we are going to see them try to finish up what they can real fast, and the stuff like the NHL that was thinking about starting in Jan getting pushed back.

It likely won't apply to this game, but I wonder if the Big Ten will do what the SEC has done and decide to play makeup games on the same day as the Big Ten Championship game (Dec 19) as long as neither team is in the CCG. If the Terps can't get back on the field in time for MSU next week, maybe they could make up that game in Dec.

They knew it was high risk to try and get the season in. Not going to fault them for trying.
