I don't think they played terribly, but they didn't have a very strong game either. NC State did play pretty well, and Leslie was definitely in the zone.

Stoglin's outside shooting has been amazing so far this year. If he can beat 40+% guy from the outside, with Len inside and Padgett looking a bit better inside, we could do some damage. Was hoping for a win, but don't really think that this was a terrible loss.

I pretty much feel the same way. They're obviously going to be very dependent on Stoglin offensively all year, but Len should be able to add more as he gets more comfortable. Nick Faust needs to bring more to the table offensively. He's shooting 30.6% from the field, 22% from 3, and 54.3% from the line. That's just not acceptable.

I really like what I see from Len. He's definitely a little rough around the edges on offense, and his conditioning needs to improve (got beat a few times getting back on defense that led to baskets), but his rebounding is impressive. There were a few times he seemed to be in poor position, but still came up with the rebound. I think as he continues to develop, you'll find he becomes very dominant on the glass.

It would have been great to win this one, but NCState played well. MD put up a nice fight. I'm not too frustrated about this loss. They need to take care of business at home against Wake and GT.

I agree we need more efficiency from Faust, but I do think that by the end of the year we'll be able to get it. He's got all the skills to be a very good swing man.

Defensively, I think he does a good job. Every now and then he makes a mental mistake or falls asleep and gets beat off the ball, but he's really long and he already plays the passing lanes pretty well. Reminds me a bit of DJ Strawberry in that regard. He plays with very high energy and wants to be a good player on the defensive side of the ball, which is really all you need to see to know that an athletic, talented guy is going to be a good defender.

Once he settles down and I think he'll become more consistent offensively. I think we'll see a lot of the wild spinning drives to the basket and rushed threes disappear, and he'll play more under control. He should be able to shoot well enough to force defenders to play up on him, and when they do, he'll also be to go by them and get to the basket.

We needed him to do more than he was ready to do early in the year, and I think that's a big part of why his numbers are so bad, but you can definitely see the skills are there. He's going to be a very solid player if he keeps working hard.
