Following a loss in their conference opener to Indiana, Maryland returns home to face off against Penn State in what will be their final conference game until January. The Nittany Lions have an identical 4-4 record to the Terps, and have lost four straight games to Texas A&M, Butler, VCU, and Bucknell. Mike Rhoades is in his first season in Happy Valley after spending the previous six years at VCU. The team was forced to replace 11 players from last season's roster.
Penn State is led by a talented backcourt of Kanye Clary and Ace Baldwin, Jr., who are both averaging more than 14 points per game. Maryland fans will be familiar with Qudus Wahab, who joined the Nittany Lions following a second stint at Georgetown last season. He's averaging 11 points and 9 rebounds per game. Like the Terps, their entire team has struggled to shoot the ball, particularly from beyond the arc.
