West Virginia is 19-14 overall, 7-11 in the Big 12.

The Mountaineers are 5-5 in their last 10 games, but that includes 6 games vs. Top 11 overall teams.

WVU:

Bob Huggins, who I still associate with Cincinnati, has been at WVU since the 2007-08 season.

Huggins has 934 career wins (344 at WVU).
The Mountaineers went to the Final Four in '09-'10, and three Sweet 16's between '14-'15 and '17-'18.

The last few years haven't reached those heights.

'18-'19, CBI Quarterfinal

'19-'20, COVID, WVU was 9-9 in Conference play.

'20-'21, NCAAT Round of 32

'21-'22, No Postseason

Does WVU play the same style as always? Press all game, crash boards, huge tempo, tons of turnovers?

They don’t press as heavily as they did back in the day, but they do still create a ton of turnovers. They’re about 100th in the country in tempo and rebounds per game.

WVU is an extremely experienced team. All six players who average more than 15 minutes per game for them are seniors, which we all know is typically an indicator of March success.

They're 51st for turnover rate. For reference the 2014-15 through 2017-18 teams were first or second nationally, so they have indeed relaxed a bit.

Not very confident. WVU always seems like a tough match-up for Maryland on the court.

Neither really wants the right to get flooded by Bama.

Same thing happened two years ago. All the "experts" picked UConn, and Maryland won by 9.

I expect Huggins to use the same tactics he did the last time they met in the Tourney.  Get real physical with the PG (Young) and the secondary ball handlers.

I feel like Long and Hart are going to have to perform.

Despite the avalanche of picks for WVU above, this is pretty much a pick'em game.

I’ve been tracking BPI Game Predictions all year and have never seen 0.0. Truly as toss up as it gets, according to BPI. Jordan, hit us with the KenPom?

I mean, I can't imagine an 8/9 game is so overwhelmingly favored to the 9. If they are doing this right at all it should be basically a pick em.

As a cord cutter with antenna, I'm just glad it's on CBS and not BTN or whatever finally.

True. But I think I heard something like 70% of the money and bet volume is coming in on WVU.
