I'm violently knocking on wood but I think they're reasonably safe for the tournament right now so I figure we might as well do a separate thread for their seed/opponent in assorted brackets.

I'll get us started with Lunardi giving them #8 seed, facing #9 Pitt before possibly seeing #1 Kansas

Shame we are in the same conference as Purdue. Makes an 8/9 vs them unlikely. Id like our chances vs them. Not sure how wed match up with Bama but I dont like our chances much against any B12 #1 seed or UCLA again.

Would rather be a 10 on the lower side of the bracket.

Not interested in a 1 seed in round 2.

I'd love to play UCLA again.

That night was more about MD just having a horrible night vs UCLA being some machine.

If you play them again, absolutely zero pressure on MD.

I think it was about both. UCLA is definitely one of the last teams I’d want to play.

Agree they wouldn’t get blown out this time.

Haha, I'm good not playing them again.

Tonight helped!

Get up to like a 6 so you can go to the sweet 16 without facing the best of the best...it's not going to be easy either way, but it beats facing UCLA or Alabama or whatever. You don't get extra credit for harder games.

I absolutely don't want to play them again unless it's in the 2nd week or later in the tourney.  They are a monster.  I think we would do better - Young in particular - but we don't have the guard play to keep up with their defensive style.  That 30-6 run they went on was mostly fueled by their guards being absolutely oppressive in the passing lanes on defense, and following that up with points on the break.  We lost like 4 passes on that run.

They could make a strong push here at the end of the season for a top 5 seed. #4 or even #3 isnt out of the question. They play the 4 worst conference teams and a Northwestern team thats not overly impressive at home. Win all of them and make a deep B10 tourny run and youre likely looking at 4 seed. Win the B10 tourny and a 3??

Very possible IMO but trying to keep things in context, I’m thrilled to be dancing.

Any updated bracketologies?

Feel like everyone and their mother has one out these days.

Curious to see where the experts have us seeded right now.

Lunardi has us as a 7 (trending updwards) playing Nevada -- much to Stoner's delight, he's got us facing UCLA in round 2.

Would love to play well here on out and get a 6 or even a 5 (a guy can dream) and avoid those 1s and 2s until possibly the second weekend.

Also interesting he has Purdue still as a 1 despite their recent slump.

Nah. Samford pulls the upset in round 1. Maryland beats Nevada, Samford, then plays Gonzaga in the sweet 16 just to geek you out.

He also has Kentucky playing UNC in a play in game

Most watched play in game ever, obviously, if that were to come to pass.

Can't even beat up on the Zags too much this year -- they ain't even the best team in the own conference!

Watch this be the year they win it all.

If we played our first two in Sacramento and then went to the regional in Vegas the team would just stay out west right?

Selection committee put Purdue at #3 ovr (1 seed) and Indiana at #13 ovr (4 seed) so that'd be where their two best wins stand right now but that was also before today's action so who knows how much it's changed

Lunardi had Miami as a 4 too, they are right with Indiana in the polls. That win was so long ago I sometimes forget about it.

The hot streak to begin the season will definitely do good things for their tournament resume and seeding. Rankings tend to be heavily weighted towards recency, but the committee often rewards overall season accomplishments.

Maybe there is no way to get to a 3 seed. 4 has to be a real possibility if they run the table
