1.59 ERA in 5.2 innings starting his last two bullpen games.

Not exactly a franchise cornerstone but he's been doing the job that's been asked so far.

He has been good so far for the Orioles.  It seems like they are going to stretch him out to see if he can give them length in the rotation.

I think it’s fair to chalk this up as another win for Elias and Chis Holt. He’s talked about the coaches and data making him better prepared, he’s already designed a new pitch he’s using successfully in games, and the results are there to back it up.

Yeah, if it lasts, definitely. I still don't trust him but can't argue against the numbers to date.

He's been especially terrific lately.

2.77 ERA / 3.61 FIP in 78 IP.

I'd like to see him in the mix for the bullpen next year.  Arb-eligible for the first time.

Id pencil him in as a 2 or 3 inning middle RP. Not that he cant throw an inning at a time either. 6th -8th in the pen ideally

With the Cole Irvin trade and more Angelos news on the court front, I missed that they agreed to terms with Voth. 1yr/$1.85M with a team option for 2024 at $2.45M plus potential for $500k more based on performance escalators.

I think the way MLB utilizes starters today, the role of the long man should be utilized more.  Voth may be a really good fit as a guy who comes in, after a starter gets knocked out early and pitches to the 7th or 8th inning.

Yeah but then you're putting him into a game with a low win probability.

If not a SP I don't know what his best role would be in the BP but I don't know that mop-up guy is his best one either.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

A one time through the order guy in the middle innings of a close game seems perfect for him to me.

True, but saving the other guys in the pen has value.  Don’t lose the next day’s game by burning up your pen down 7.

Isn’t this going to be the situation for every starting pitcher this year? :)
