I don't like watching games on Apple (and, in a couple weeks, Peacock and YouTube), but MLB's streaming deals are really small potatoes in the grand scheme of things.  Only 4% of the league's games are behind these paywalls! That translates to ~six games per team (granted, some teams will be featured more, and some less), or one per month. It's okay to skip a game now and then!

The bigger issues are all the RSN carriage issues. Hoo boy. Watching locally is expensive thanks to a lack of streaming carriage deals, and more carriers dropping RSNs. Even when Sinclair launches their DTC offering, it's not going to be cheap, and the people paying for it likely won't have cable subs - and thus, they won't get slightly cheaper bundled internet. Snowball, snowball, snowball.
