Re: Willard...   ESPN's Bracketology has Seton Hall as a 9 seed as of this morning.

So, 50/50 he goes out in the opener....  and good chance he's done by the end of next weekend.

MD should be able to interview him 3/21.... if he's the guy, he's the guy.  Pull the trigger.

- Build the staff.

- Meet the players. Who wants to stay?

Seton Hall's 2022 Class.... does he make a play for any of them to jump to MD?

Here's the remaining 2022 Class. Can you get involved with any? Flip anyone?

Here's the 2022 Portal. Obviously going to be a ton of names added.

- Then you got to get moving on '23.  Top '23 players in MD.  Top '23 players overall.

I absolutely think Willard / whoever will have MD into the Top 25 in '23-'24.

Dockery has entered the transfer portal. The first of many.

Reese is the only core player I anticipate being back, and that’s mainly because he genuinely seems to enjoy going to school with his sister.

Cornish was certainly a strange one.  I don't think I remember a player rated as highly as he was not playing at all.

Cornish will return regardless of the head coaching hire, according to Team Durant recruiting director Dwayne Wise.

How does a 4 star, top 100 recruit go an entire season without playing a single minute on a 15-17 team that went 7-13 in conference?

I'm wondering if it was at his request? Wanted the red shirt for some reason? Hadn't thought this until seeing the above that he's staying no matter who is named the next head coach.

They made the decision months ago to redshirt him. Not sure if that was at his request or not, but reports said he was impressive in practices.

Getting this done March 21st, is better than April 1st.   Get going immediately.

Wise just confirmed that Cornish’s redshirt last season was due to rehab following an ankle injury he suffered during his senior year of high school.

There will be many players in the portal that can help.  Having Willard in place before the players start transfering is big.  It also gives him time to reach out to guys like Reese, who I assume will be a priority to keep.

I wonder why they never made that known.

Man.  Between this and the Orioles, getting any injury info is like breaking into NSA computers.

Adam Zagoria reports that Tony Skinn and David Cox are two of the top candidates for positions on Willard’s staff.

Skinn is a former George Mason guard who played at the Takoma Academy (Takoma Park, MD) in high school. He’s currently an assistant coach at Ohio State, but was on Willard’s staff from 2018-2021.

Cox is a Washington, DC native who played at William & Mary and was recently fired as Rhode Island’s head coach after four seasons. He has experience as an assistant coach with Rutgers and Georgetown, as well as Archbishop Carroll High School (Washington, DC).

Good to see he is zeroing in on the local area.

Julian Reese’s mother just tweeted out an endorsement of Willard. It was always likely that he’d be back with his sister on campus, but this is another good sign.

Nice, now young Mr. Reese, hit the weight room and eat some carbs.
