2 doubles for Alvarez last night, something to build from.

Tough initial 40 ab's (.517 OPS), but again.. it's 40 ab's.

Does have 8 walks against his 9 k's.

Hopefully he's in the lineup tonight.

He's had some nice swings lately.  His hit up the middle against a LHP last night was encouraging.

His OBP is higher than Rickard's.

Had him pegged for 30 home runs in full-time DH duties for the O's this year. Off to a slow start obviously -- .186/.314/.256 entering today -- but where do you fans and folks stand on him moving forward?

I mean the 10-8 K/BB ratio is a positive for sure. Still no home runs, though.

Love the K/BB rate. Missing hittable pitches. Should be the same he's always been vs RHP

Definitely better putting more balls in the air.

I wonder what it is... does he hate April weather?... or does he just need an extra 100 AB's in ST?

Was never worried. Lot to adjust to this season. He's kind of a mental midget. Didn't surprise me. He will be a nice player for us for sure.

3 hits tonight.  Some consistent production for a few weeks would be nice.

Yeah, lets not DFA Alvarez. He may come in handy this summer.

Did any dumbass say they wanna DFA him?  Or is this just rhetorical?

I'm glad the O's were patient with him.

Why wouldn't they have been patient with him. Because Rob thought he might be cut by June.  This is a guy with a solid track record against RHP.

I agree that it made total sense to be patient with him.

And if he continued to hit as poorly as he was, he would have been cut.

But, he has started to hit better, so he has bought himself more time.  I thought he had until early to mid June to get himself together and he seemingly has.
