Not sure how much play this will get, but who are your Top 8 Favorite Wrestlers of all time?  I saw a similar list the other day and made me start thinking about it.  Mine are below - keep in mind these aren't necessarily the "best" wrestlers, just my personal favorites through the years.

8.  Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart - Loved him as a kid.  The brawn behind the Hart Foundation, he had the cool goatee and the maniacal laugh.  Bret always got the glory, but it was the Anvil who always bailed him out when he got into trouble.

7.  Hulk Hogan - As a kid he would have been the clear #1.  As an adult who's heard all about his backstage politicking and the fact that he seems to not be a very good guy, I can't drop him off the list because of how huge he was during my childhood years.  

6.  Eddy Guerrero - Great character, great talent.  Leader of the lWo in WCW, and then of course exploded in the WWE.  

5.  Chris Jericho - Another tremendous talent that WCW let get away because they were too busy catering to the "names".  There are of course many reasons why WCW failed, but you only need to look at Jericho and Guerrero to see how much talent they let just walk away.

4.  Ted DiBiase - One of the great heel characters of all time, and a guy whose work I've appreciated a lot more as I've gotten older.  So good at getting the crowd to despise him, and while not the most athletic guy in the ring he knew how to work a match.

3.  Rowdy Roddy Piper - Best showman in wrestling history, IMO, bar none.  His look whenever he comes out from behind the curtain - where he's just looking around the crowd, seemingly absorbing all of it - one of the best in the business.

2.  Mr. Perfect - This was  a tough one, because it's really the character I like more than the wrestler himself.  Curt Hennig was very talented, but as Curt Hennig he just didn't do that much for me.  Mr. Perfect, though, was awesome.  His vignettes with the Genius during his rivalry with Hulk Hogan are gold.

1.  Scott Hall - Liked him as Razor Ramon.  Loved him as Scott Hall, leader of the Outsiders, and the man who "started" the nWo movement.  In ring talent, mic skills, persona, cool catchphrase ("Hey yo"), his nWo "surveys".  My favorite wrestler of all time from my favorite period in wrestling.  

Taker and Warrior are the top for me...Have to think about the others.  Lesnar would probably be in my top 8 as well.

Why 8 and not 10?

My top 3 are pretty much locked in, after that you can take any of the guys from the above list and put them in the mix as well.

Nice to see Hall getting so much love.  Shame how far downhill he went, but the last I heard he seemed to have gotten things together for the time being.

I would have had Warrior on mine as well, but that dude sounded like such a jerk in real life I just couldn't justify it.  But no question he was one of my favorites as a kid.

Hell, The Razor's Edge was my finishing move when my brother and I would wrestle on our parents bed as kids.

Going back to the early 80s, this list could be long and extensive....trying to keep it to 8..here goes...and I'm a current fan as well mind you.

8.  John Cena -you can't deny that he's carried this company and is a great ambassador...and dude always has great matches.  HIs best days are behind him, and while his character is a bit "stale" much like Hogan's was, it'll be nice for him to go away for a few months.  I'd be excited for him to come back as a heel somehow for WM but I just don't see it happening.

7.  Undertaker -  I emulated him wrestling pillows on my parents' bed for years as a kid..I was the "Chicago Terror" though and my finishing move was also the tombstone piledriver.  His American Badass years were maybe my favorite and were more true to his real-life persona.  It will be interesting when he goes into the HOF next year (calling it now as it'll be in TX)

6.  Macho Man Randy Savage - His Steamboat WM3 match is still one of the greatest matches I've ever watched.  I never wanted to snap into a slim jim because of him, but I always wanted to be him so I could get closer to Miss Elisabeth....oooohhhhh yeah!!!!!!!!  (RIP to both)

5.  Ric Flair -  GOAT....period.  Not my favorite performer but can't deny his absolute greatness.  

4.  HHH - May be an unpopular pick here, but I love the Cerebral Assassin.  When he came back from his torn quad to THIS RESPONSE, I remember getting gooseflesh like a boss!  Great performer, his matches always tell great stories, and regardless if he was one who is said to refusing to "do business" he's still one of my favorites of all time. In fact, he could easily be #3.

3.  Hulk Hogan - Led children of the 80s to believe that we could be just like him (a super hero almost) by training hard, saying our prayers, and eating our vitamins.  Yep...'dem weren't vitamins, but I still remember sitting in the Harrisburg Farm Show complex with my Mom watching Wrestlemania 3 on close circuit Big Screen TV and seeing him slam Andre the Giant.  One of the most vivid moments of my youth.  I could get Alzheimers, and taht will be one of ht last memories I'd ever lose.  When he dropped hte leg on Savage and turned heel and created the NWO with Hall & Nash, it was probably the greatest thing a 19-year-old guy who was tired of his stale character could ever see.  A shame what banghing a hot chick on camera and saying the 'N-word' can do to you or your legacy.  However, I still forgive him.  

2.  Stone Cold Steve Austin -  If you listen to his podcast, you know that he really doesn't like to drink shitty beer anymore...he's an IPA guy.  However, in the late-90s and into the mid-2000s, there is only ONE GUY who entertained the millions better or as well as this guy.  His fights with McMahon were amazing and even when in funny situations he was hilarious...I was a fan of him and Pillman in WCW as the Hollywood Blondes, and when he came as the "Ringmaster" I almost threw up...so glad he went "Rogue" and told Vince that that character sucked ass, and created his own brand of himself...Still get goosebumps when the glass breaks when he comes back today from time to time.

1.  The Rock - I wanted to BE THE ROCK.  I wanted to HANG with the Rock.  I wanted to hang out with the People's Champ.  Shit, I still do.  What an absolute amazing performer/competitor.  Nothing beats his promos, and him beating Hogan in Toronto was absolutely amazingly awesome.  I could go on for days about The Rock, but we all know how awesome he is.

As you can see,I was a huge WCW cruiserweight fan. But it's hard to compete with WWF's (yeah I used the old moniker) attitude era. But in the end, the Hitman was my favorite. The Montreal Screw job broke my heart.

Pillman was fun.  Liked him and Jushin Liger.

I wish I would've seen this 7 years ago but in no particular order:

Flair, Austin, Taker, Great Muta, Bret, Rick Rude, Roddy Piper and Beautiful Bobby Eaton.

MJF and Dax Harwood have a change to work their way onto the list.
