I linked to this like a month or two ago in the podcasts thread. It's fantastic.

So do you guys think Adnan is guilty? Even if you think he is, do you think there was enough evidence to convict him?

Have only listened to the first few episodes. I'll be interested to see if my opinion changes. My initial take is that he's guilty, but the evidence seems limited.

I started listening last week. Originally I was going to just portion it out, but I caught up fast and listened to today's immediately. It's that good. Plus, Sarah Koenig was fantastic on Colbert last night.

So do you guys think Adnan is guilty? Even if you think he is, do you think there was enough evidence to convict him?

From relatively early on, all I could do is wonder how in the hell someone could be convicted based on the evidence presented, and how so much of the evidence that wasn't presented slipped by. I don't know if he's guilty or not, but at the minimum he deserves a new trial, and I think that would acquit him.

Definitely not enough evidence to convict. I'm like 70/30 that he's innocent.

I agree this week's episode seemed like filler.

Agree about the first part. I'd flip the percentages, though or maybe even make them worse for Adnan. I guess I need a more compelling case for someone else doing it.

I feel like it was Jay but I'm trying to keep in perspective that this isn't some fictional whodunnit. So maybe I should say 50/50.

His motive seems pretty weak. It would also be an odd decision IMO to try to frame Adnan rather than just keep quiet.

That's fair. I doubt we get any definite conclusion next week but hopefully she can at least convincingly say what she thinks happened.

I'm curious what the next season will be like.

The thing to keep in mind is that, like was mentioned, this isn't a fictional story, so the answers don't have to be limited to the "characters" introduced. Especially once the timeline the state used in the case falls apart and the window where she could have been murdered opens up well past the "21 minutes".

I also don't expect anything close to a definitive conclusion. I haven't listened to the new episode yet, but I guess the main thing that I'm holding out hope for is that lawyer team produces something noteworthy.

I'm guessing she's getting a few stories to choose from :P

I'm in the middle of the 4th.  Jay is a problem for me.

Episode 5... I do remember a pay phone being there.

Started listening last Friday, caught up yesterday.  It's easy to listen to and get into.

I go back and forth on this.  Definitely amazed he was convicted on that "evidence".  I'm still not sure that he's innocent.  Jay is obviously a strong possibility as well.

Mr. S is a pervert, but I don't think he's involved at all.

Episode 9... again talking about the payphone at Best Buy...  "Laura" saying there was not a payphone there.

That's bs... I know there was.

Ehh.. maybe I missed it... looks like they are saying inside the Best Buy?  That I don't know.

I know there was a pay phone outside the store, in-between Best Buy and the McDonalds next door.

Shoot her an email, she's definitely convinced that it didn't exist.
