Other MD teams joining CHC in both rankings systems are Bullis, Boys Latin, McDonogh, Landon, Georgetown Prep, Gilman, Loyola, & St. Mary’s.
I’ll have to read up on Varsity Sports Network and the Baltimore Sun on who’s who in the public school ranks statewide. Here in Baltimore City Poly, City College and Mervo have been the top 3 teams to beat for a long time. In 2018, BCC beat Poly 12-8 in the regular season and 11-10 in the state playoffs. Mervo beat City College 7-5 but fell to Poly 14-6.
On the girls side, Poly, City and Western have dominated the city lacrosse scene since way before my daughter graduated from Western in 2014. It’s definitely going to be an interesting and fun season to watch HS lacrosse in the sport’s hotbed.

Hall with 20 D1 recruits.........need to play with more than 1 biscuit at a time.....not enough shots to go around.

Georgetown Prep looked good, knocking off two MIAA playoff teams in St. Mary's and Severn. Bullis lost the number one player in the country Shellenberger and Landon looks down ever since the graduation of Epstein. Should be a very interesting year.

CHC lost to Hill Academy 10-9 in OT. After a back and fourth battle in the first three quarters, Calvert Hall led Hill Academy 8-6. The Cardinals were ahead 9-7 with over 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter but couldn’t stop Hill Academy from tying the score and winning in OT. Great game between the two highly ranked teams. CHC takes on Dominion (VA) next on Saturday, March 16th in Towson.
Gilman lost today 12-9 to Hill. Was leading for a lot of the game and game was tied 9-9 with about 3 mins left, before Hill exploded at the end. It’s going to be a great season this MIAA season.

Gilman loses another tough one 8-7 in the final minute to a Bullis team that most have as Top 6 Nationally after being up 7-5. Seems like Gilman is really really good this year.
Bullis is good, but isn't as good as they are ranked. I feel like the MIAA has more parity then has in years past.

It’s looking like you’re right. CHC is obviously the odds on favorite, up to 5 teams could give them problems. I think whomever gets hot at the end of the season and stays injury free, will win.

CHC has won three straight since losing to Hill Academy. The Cardinals beat Dominion (VA) 14-5, Malvern Prep (PA) 14-9 and Loyola Academy. The Cardinals JR G Jackson Marshall also had an excellent game as did JR M Ray Glass on the defensive end of the field. Calvert Hall’s next opponent is Boys Latin on Friday at home.

McDonogh my pick to upset CHC for the title
I think CHC, BL, Gilman, or McDonogh could all win the title this year. Just depends on who stays healthy and gets hot in the playoffs.

The score was 8-6 CHC with a little over 3 minutes left in 3rd Q; CHC went on a 6-0 run to go up 14-6; McDonogh responded with a 5-1 run to close the game but still lost 15-11. CHC improved its record to 8-1. McDonogh lost its third straight MIAA game to fall to 6-3.

Mcdonogh for some reason was ranked Number 1 in the country and is looking like they probably won’t make the playoffs. It’s CHC’s to lose, think it will come down to CHC and Gilman(even though they lost to Loyola).Coming off wins against Boys Latin (12-5) and John Carroll (15-2), CHC took on McDonogh tonight in the FCA MIAA game of the week televised on MeTV channel 11.2 (WBAL-TV)
