Season just underway and we've already seen a noticeable upset.  Jacksonville took down Navy 12-7 yesterday down in Florida.  Granted the Mids aren't the cream of the crop but they are a traditional power that has had prior success.  After finishing 3-11 last year in their first season as a D-1 program you have to give Jacksonville credit for the improvement they have shown.

Albany plays Syracuse in the Dome on Saturday, that should be an entertaining one to watch!

Unfortunately Duke is Duke and I loathe Bill Tierny so I won't be watching that one but I agree it should be a good game.

The #3 Terps rolled in their first test of the season yesterday, beating #17 Penn 13-6. Their upcoming 4-game stretch will be very tough, as they face #8 Notre Dame, #2 Albany, #7 Villanova, and #12 North Carolina before starting conference play at the end of March.

I wouldn't exactly call Penn a "test" when you are the defending National Champions.  That said it was nice to see the Defense show up after giving up 14 goals to High Point over the weekend.  The next 4 certainly pose stronger competition (although UNC hasn't looked impressive in their past two wins, one goal each over Furman and Lehigh)

That Albany game should be something to watch, Terps D better be up to the task.  Albany has been talked up alot heading into this season as a National Title contender and they showed it in their opener demolishing Syracuse 15-3 up in the Dome.  Freshmen Tehoka Nanticoke was the #1 recruit heading into the season and he showed it by putting up 5 goals in his college debut.

Good game going on right now between Notre Dame and Maryland, towards the end of the first half. Setting up for another huge matchup next week with Maryland and Albany, potentially #1 vs #2.

Top 10 matchup this afternoon in #9 UNC vs #4 Denver @4PM on ESPN3. North Carolina looking to stay undefeated and pick up its first HUGE win of the season.

Great Danes mounting a comeback, but Maryland still up 9-6 nearing the end of the 3rd quarter.

Well, that was a quick turnaround. Just as Albany had drawn within 2, the Terps score 2 goals in 2 minutes to push their lead to 10-6 at the end of the 3rd.

Albany completes an impressive 5-goal comeback to win, 11-10. Terps shut out in the 4th quarter.

There were quite a few good games on today. Unfortunately missed MD-Albany, but ND-Denver lived up to the billing, then Towson came back to beat Ohio State in OT.

Faceoffs!!!

I watched almost the whole game.

Terps won 10 of 18 through the first 3 quarters.   Lost all 6 in the fourth quarter.  Make it take is huge when you are mounting a comeback.

Speaking of faceoffs, there was one in the second half of the ND-Denver game that legitimately lasted over 30 seconds. I had to check and make sure my tv wasn't paused. It started a bit of a debate about faceoffs and specialized players on #lacrosseTwitter
