Bloomberg: UA's Quest to Dethrone Nike and Jump-start Baltimore

It's very cool that UA is so big and based right here in Baltimore with a CEO who really seems to care about the city, making it better, as well as UM. Couldn't ask for a better situation.

 

I've only had a few UA products but what I have had from them left me very unimpressed. But I must be in the minority because UA is EVERYWHERE.

Their gear is nice, but it's all kinds of expensive.

 

I have a few long sleeve cold gear shirts.  They're great for winter running.

I've luckily been associated with various internships/companies where I've never had to pay full price for UA gear, so I have a decent amount of it.

 

I really like their product but I can't imagine I'd be willing to pay the retail cost for it.

I have a few t-shirts that I wear to the gym or around the house. They don't stick to you when you start sweating. Can tell they keep you cooler. But I found them on the rack randomly at Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc...for 12 maybe 15 bucks. Im not a baller who can drop 50 bucks on t shirts.

I did splurge on a hat to wear golfing. Extremely comfortable. For light weight the brim holds up perfectly. I bent the brim how I like it and haven't had to touch it since.

Also have a basic pair of cleats for softball. Even their low end cleats are holding up very well after a few years now.

Compression shirts aren't for me though. I'd probably look like 100 pounds of chewed bubble gum stuffed in a 10 pound sack.

I like what the company does a lot. Looks like an awesome place to work for.

For marketing class we had a project where we had to come up with a new product, make an existing one better, or make a product an existing company could add to their line. So I was thinking, what if Under Armour made bed sheets. Keep you cool at night. Especially pillow cases. There is a company that makes this already called Sheex, started in 2010. But I'm sure what they invented, UA could perfect. Might actually have to dig up that old project and send it to em. I'll take a small finders fee. 😄

I've got a bunch of gear, but most of what I have was gifts or stuff I've gotten for cheap (a good buddy of mine gets deep discounts through his job).  I think the quality is quite high.

 

I've embraced how fat I look in the compression gear.  I'm married now, so my fat, tightly wrapped gut getting a laugh out of my friends is worth more to me than trying to impress some strange.  I should grow a mustache.
