And now, most amazing of all, the Pearl hire has actually spurred Auburn basketball fans to totally and literally buy in. The school has announced that for the first time in 15 years its season-ticket allotment has filled up. Sold out. That's 5,800 tickets.

 

And Friday night's exhibition game against West Alabama? Yeah, that was standing-room only.

 

As of Saturday morning, tickets for the team's eight out-of-conference games were still able to bought, but only as single-ticket purchases. And there weren't many left.

 

Some turnaround from a season ago, when the team had the second-lowest fan turnout in the conference. Not one game was sold to capacity (9,121). Now, the inverse is to be expected: not one game won't be at full size this season.

Pretty damn impressive group of freshman Duke has.

Kentucky is absurdly loaded.

If those 2 meet in the final 4 or the final, that would be a ton of pro talent on the court.

A lot of really good teams this year....can't wait for the cupcake schedules to go away.

Auburn looks much improved. A lot of transfers. Cinmeon Bowers is a beast and we have some guards that can score. The Buffs should be a good test.

Antoinie Mason being one of those transfers... leading scorer in the country last year.

MD Transfer Trayvon Reed officially in after the first semester I think...

Next year you get Danjel Purifoy who was looking at MD....

How does Xavier look this year? Not sure if that one is going to be out of our reach.

We're a small team that rotates a lot of guards. I think we still are easing into Pearl's high pressure philosophy. A lot of times guys were headed back on D after a made basket instead of denying the inbounds pass.
