The Coyotes Were Damned Close To Moving To Seattle
Basically, if their lease vote hadn't gone through, they were ready to pull a Colts. There was a sales agreement in place and there were literally moving vans on standby. Here is the Seattle Times article:

Oh, and the vote is being investigated for illegal dealings around it.

So there's been a mumps outbreak working it's way through the NHL.

I didn't watch it, but is the NHL All-Star game the worst among the major sports leagues when it comes to how much these exhibitions fail to resemble an actual game? I mean, a 17-12 hockey game sounds a little exciting, and maybe more so if the score were a little closer. But really, 29 goals in one game? Really?

ESPN: Most common no-trade destinations
It's an Insider post, but according to Deadspin, it's Edmonton and Winnipeg at one and two, Buffalo* number three, and Ottawa and Toronto four and five.
*Would have bet the house on #1. Oh well.

Less shootouts on the horizon! The NHL will implement 3 on 3 overtime Hockey as soon as next season. This is definitely a good thing, I much rather watch 3 on 3 then see a game be decided by a skills gimmick.

About time. 3 on 3 hockey has worked well for the AHL. I'm upset that we'll never get to see Green Backstrom and Ovi together for 3 on 3 hockey though.
