This team can obviously be a playoff team.

I don't think, as of right now, they can win more than 1 game though.

Youre crazy. Is the division winner gonna be 8-8 because that's the only way we have a chance.

The sky hasn't fallen yet, but we must beat Pittsburgh on Thursday night. We can't start the year 0-2 against the division at home.

BTW....no sacks and only one tackle for loss. They consistently got positive yards and Dalton missed some relatively easy throws.

62 throws for Joe is an inexcusable amount, even in the pass happy NFL.

That ties his career high (the Broncos opening game last year) and is tied with a bunch of others for 18th most attempts in a game all-time.

Can't believe people aren't somewhat willing to dismiss the 1st half given the installation of a completely new system and some key new personnel. They pretty consistently drove the ball in the 2nd half. Though Burfict being out certainly helped. Still, you saw an offense that started to settle down a bit after a couple solid drives.

Exactly. It looked exactly like last year.
They'll do.just enough to keep you from completely giving up but deep down you know they are too flawed to be a playoff team. At least a legit one.

This team is more talented than last years team. The difference is we are now relying on more unproven, inexperienced talent.

We should also be a better coached team, with a better offensive system.

Look at the mistakes today:

1) Joe at the end of the half.
2)  Pierce fumble.
3) 4 drops by Smith and probably 7 or 8 balls total that may not go as drops but they should have been caught.
4) Tucker missed FG

You don't expect #1 too happen at all...#4 will be rare. Drops will happen but not like today.

Take some of that away and you win today. Now, you can't do that obviously but the point is a lot of issues today were self inflicted. Cinci did very little to cause any of these things.

That's the encouraging thing.

The Ravens had 10 more first downs than Cinci. 40 more total yards. They held Cinci to 79 yards rushing. They had the ball for 1 less minute than Cinci which is amazing since cinci had it for 20 of the first 27 min.

When you look at everything besides those mistakes, you are encouraged. You like that the defense kept them in the game and really only made the one bad mistake, which IMO, is as much on coaching as anything.

They need to prove that next week. Until then, it's a continuation of many of the same issues as in the past.

The division winner will win 9-10 games. The Ravens can obviously do that.

Like last year, no one is all that good and the AFC is very weak. Even NE got bitched today by a mediocre team.

Now, give the Ravens a tough schedule like some of the NFC teams have and I would agree more with your stance here.

There is no way we win 10. 9 is our ceiling.

Very surprised at the game plan. We heard for months about establishing the run and the Ravens choose to pass - a lot. I understand when your down by two touchdowns but the first half was poorly laid out.

This is dumb.

The ceiling is clearly much higher.

If the young guys become good quickly and the offense hums like it did in preseason, this team can win a lot more than 9.

Now, the REALISTIC ceiling may be 9 games and if that's what you mean, that's fine.

A. The defense is quite bad. Props for not breaking until the Green TD but Dalton should have had more. No pressure which is bad news for this pathetic secondary. The run defense was ok. That's literally the best thing you can say.

B. Offensively, it was good to see the run game get going. That's really the only noticeable difference from last year. Still, I stand by my belief that Joe is gonna be an inconsistent WC QB. He doesn't get the ball out on time enough and is too inaccurate.

The 2nd half was a lot of the hurry up offense. Not really within the scheme of the offense. This will be an inconsistent offense because that's what our QB is.

For the small step the offense might take forward this season, the defense is gonna at least take that much a step back.

Lol. However you want to label it we aren't getting 10 wins and 9 is unlikely.

Well, learn the differences and you wouldn't need to be corrected.

The post I made can't be disputed. Clean up the mistakes and you have to be encouraged...combine that and the weak AFC and there is plenty of reason to not think the season is over.

I don't need to learn anything dickhead.

We aren't winning 10 games which means 9 games is our ceiling. End of story.

Actually, you need to learn plenty.

You don't know what the definition of a ceiling is...and if you actually think the ceiling is 9 wins, then you are dumber than I thought.

There is a difference between ceiling and realistic win totals. The ceiling is without question higher. This team obviously has the talent to be better than 9 wins.

But, it's young and it's inconsistent and that is the big issue...there is no doubt about that.
