I keep seeing cool stuff on there(that my wife is showing me) but it can't bring myself to join because it seems like it's a chick thing.

This is 2014.  You're going to have to define exactly what you mean by "guy".

I think that, if you believe it will be a useful site for you, either because you can view things your wife wants to share, or because you find your own use for it, go ahead. It's just a tool. A pink hammer is still a hammer, and if you find that the pink one is more comfortable or usable, that's all that matters.

Or, to put it another way:

It has drink recipes, therefore it is also for men.

Actually I got my Bomb Pop recipe from there, so maybe it isn't.

It's also becoming a requirement for a lot of sales/PR/marketing jobs to have experience with Pinterest as part of social media expertise; to be competitive, men in those fields are increasingly having to acquire that experience. It can't be dismissed out of hand. I've never used it, since I'm less active online in general than many people, but if I really needed to, I guess I would.

Yeah, I had to create an account for my Social Media Marketing class this past fall.

We never really used it, but the best application of it for a sports fan like all of us here would be to follow Orioles, Ravens, etc. to see any new type of memorabilia/collectibles/etc.

If you join and see what your wife pins, you will never have to stress about knowing what she wants for Christmas/Birthday/Anniversary. I say it's a-okay since it's such a great resource for "guy" things like home improvement projects, grilling, and weight lifting/strength training.

Marrying a broad that puts her entire life on Pinterest is an entirely different conversation.
