Sounds like a cap-clearing move for the Knicks as much as anything, with Hardaway and Lee in the deal too, though Smith Jr is certainly a nice return for them.

Great move for Dallas if Porzingis can get back to form and stay healthy.

The Knicks must be confident that they're getting Durant + this summer.

Oh, and as I was suggesting in the other thread, Porzingis' value wasn't super high.

Funny how Dallas has been waiting to get rid of Smith.

I like the deal for Dallas a lot.

Knicks? This is only good if they land some top FAs.

ESPN says Dallas is also trying to get a 1st Round pick to send to NY, since they owe theirs to Atlanta (from the Doncic/Young deal). Not sure if the trade would fall apart if they can't. Seems about all the Mavs would have to offer right now is the ability to take on someone else's unwanted contract by using the TPE (though not sure if that could even work, since they have to do the trade with the Knicks first to get that TPE).

ESPN's Trade Machine says the deal currently being reported (KP, Tim Hardaway and Courtney Lee to Dallas - Smith Jr., DJ and Wes Matthews to NY) doesn't work. Added Lance Thomas going to Dallas and it did.

Assuming KP gets back to his previous level, that’s a very nice 1-2 with him and Doncic.

At least LeBron should be happy, since the Knicks finally got Dennis Smith Jr.
