A place for questions that are well, hypothetical. I think there is thread for hypothetical trade discussion.

Hypothetically speaking....if the NFL adopted sponsors plastered all over teams uniforms, like in soccer leagues, and by doing so it would eliminate commercial breaks other than half time, the air time for a game would shorten considerably. Probably from 3-3 1/2 hours to 2 ish hours.

Yay or nay? Think of the possibilities? You could have three slates of games instead of 1 and 4pm. Could have 1,3 and 5?. Thus, more out of market games could be seen. Monday night football would end at a reasonable time on the east coast. But....thr uniforms would look atrocious.

I don't think they would ever give up the commercial money. That's what makes the TV deal so valuable. They could do sponsors in addition to the commercials and keep the money, but they are greedy.

Well that and such an physical sport probably needs to be drawn out a bit to keep guys alive.

I'll pass, don't mind the time of games. CFB seems to take too long.

If they wanted games to end at a more reasonable time for the east coast, don't start them at 8:40.
