Missed out at seeing Hot 8 Brass when I was there in November. One of my biggest regrets. I had just hit a wall...tired from an early flight, drank too much, so I went back to condo. Friends stayed and said it was one of the best experiences of their lives. And that was at dba on Frenchman, IIRC.

OK. I'm not really a fan of 11 hours of flight time for 3 full days of being somewhere. Personal preference of course.
Can't really disagree there but I think we are only considering Vegas or NOLA anyway.

Vegas was a letdown for me. Might need to do it again with the guys but I'm not in any hurry to go back.
Definitely prefer NOLA for sure. So much more to see and do. And they have casino.

It's a 3 hour flight from BWI to MSY? Like 15 minutes more than the flight to MIA.

Rob I promise once you see a live show it'll be impossible not to get into it. It's infectious.
I hope you are right. I am sure it would make like it that much more.

Mackus invented the IATA code system.

The NOLA airport (MSY) is the only one I know of that was originally named for a plane crash...
I really don't know, but given how things generally work in New Orleans, that might have been decided after a few drinks...

I think visiting my local Popeye's is as close as I'll ever want to be to New Orleans. Unless the Vols reach the Sugar Bowl.

Are they gonna switch conferences anytime soon?

Wish I was going to JazzFest this year....
Neil Young
Paul Simon
Steely Dan
Stevie Wonder
Bonnie Raitt
Van Morrison
Elvis Costello
And that's just the legends.
Then you get to pick from a few of my personal favorites from modern times such as My Morning Jacket and Beck.
It's pretty sick.

It's an amazing thing... a bunch of stages going at once... always a couple or three things to choose among...
The problem is when you wanna be in 2 places at once... it used to be way easier before it got so damn crowded, but it's still hard to beat...
Plus, it's got the most amazing "fast food"... all kinds of little food booths selling all kinds of NOLA food... which means it's all good... you can't sell crappy food there and last very long... if you do it right, it's almost like Fine Dining on paper plates while you're walking around....

Bump...we're going back President's Day weekend.
Any new recommendations?
Turkey and the Wolf and Marjie's Grill are on Bon Appetite's top 50 new restaurants so those are possibilities.
