Kinda expensive but nice and right off Bourbon:

Cheaper but just north of FQ:

Plenty of these places available.

Shit, that's not bad.  A lot of the hotels are 25-400 a night.

Yeah, all depends how much you want to spend but I can't recommend HomeAway enough.

You get more room, a kitchen, tables, sometimes a patio or hot tub...all for the price of a hotel room.

How is the tour done?  Bus? Boat?

Man it's been almost 10 years since I did it, but pretty sure it was a shuttle ride out to the bayou and then to plantation. It was a combo tour. Depending on what the prices are for transportation to/from the bayou and plantation it might make sense to rent a car for the day at a local place close to FQ.

Thanks

Not many choices and many of them need a 7 day rental.

Airbnb is another way to go. I have a coworker that rents his apt out. I would imagine jazz fest will be expensive though

I don't think you'll have a problem then. FQ will be more crowded, but when I was there for the Super Bowl it was almost wall to wall on the street but there's plenty of bars to pop into so you won't have trouble getting a drink or even finding something to eat. Especially off Bourbon.

Dunno if Rob and Mrs Rob care about good restaurants... if all they want is bar food, well, bar food in NOLA is better than bar food in most places... but good restaurants is one of the special things about NOLA, and they will be packed...

If they do care, then plan ahead (if you can, some restaurants are sick of people abusing their reservation system on busy weekends) and plan to EAT EARLY....

He's said something to the effect of wanting to eat at their finest restaurants.

I'd personally recommend mixing in a cheaper place for dinner because there's lots of great options in that category too and that's part of exploring a city IMO, plus you save some money.

Been a long time, but New Orleans is the best one of those by far.

I'll put anyone here up in my house if they don't mind an air bed. No excuses play like an Irishman.

Good deal.

I'm enjoying living in Baltimore, but kinda jealous, especially now that it's gotten cold.

He said what about New Orleans?
She said I don't think you understand what that means
All those hangers-on, those girls lifting up their shirts when the cameras come on
We were trying to stay away from those kind of scenes
