Watching a game like this just emphasizes how important the intl market is. What a bunch of incredible talent.
Agreed. The WBC is great for the game regardless of what any American think. This is huge for all these other countries.

No doubt..as Seth said..look at their fans.Agreed. The WBC is great for the game regardless of what any American think. This is huge for all these other countries.
The amount of pride is huge for them.
It reminds me of the Ryder Cup. That is just more important to the Euros than the Americans.

You have no clue? How about the same reason the US hasn't won?I have no clue how they haven't!
DR is absolutely stacked.

Since they are drawing from the major-league talent pool, they have to deal with players who either don't want to play or are "discouraged" from playing--unofficially, of course.
Japan has won both times; they are drawing from a talent pool equivalent to the US AAA leagues--or better--but are willing to commit their talent to win.
Particularly pitching. There are very few top MLB pitchers on these two clubs.
Holy crap! We have an Alfredo Simon AND a Pedro Strop sighting, warming up at the same time!

He blasts a three-run homer to put the Netherlands up 5-1 on Cuba.

Would be nice to see Dickey tagged like this during the season.

I had missed that the WBC implemented pitch limit rules. That's interesting... and smart.
