Seems like the Koreans draw an inordinate amount of this kind of thing :P

I guess being neighbors with North Korea makes you more paranoid than you need to be.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Anyone staying up as long as they can to watch the WBC? First game starts shortly. Austrailia vs. Taipei. The American announcer should get a bonus if he calls the enitre game without confusing any players names on Chinese Taipei.

Wow. You could write one hell of a dirty joke with that pitching staff.

It's neat to see how differently the Asians approach the game. In the first inning, Chinese Taipei's lead off hitter got a base hit, first pitch swinging. Then a sac bunt moves him to 2nd. Yes, a sac bunt in the first inning. Then the right handed 3 hitter goes opposite field for a single to drive the run in.

In the majors, A) not many first pitch swingers because they value walks too much. B) you never see a sac bunt in the first inning. C) most 3 hole hitters, not all, but most are swinging for the fences. More often than not it doesn't lead to a home run. Figure the absolute best 3 hitters are moving that runner only about 30-35% of the time?

I'm wondering if American mangers, or general managers for that matter will ever adapt these concepts? I mean, sabermetrics was not popular, and frowned upon when Bill James started publishing his ideas. Maybe 20 years from now, if the Asians keep dominating, maybe some team adopts the manufacture runs any way any time you can, or whatever you want to call it...aggressive small ball? It'll be frowned upon, but the game of baseball is ever changing, and some teams with nothing to lose will try anything to gain an edge.

Feed in Korean for their game against the Netherlands.

Watched Schoop walk to load the bases not too long ago.

Well I hear Linda Ronstadt is looking for a guitar player.

So you mean American baseball should go BACK to doing what they used to do?

Right, that's what MLB teams used to do before they realized it was dumb.

Sure, I still remember how to say Come here in an impolite manner and curse a bit in Korean. I am sure that when confronted with trash talk in their own language they will back down.

Well I hear Linda Ronstadt is looking for a guitar player.

Cuba led Japan 6-0 going to the 9th. Japan scores 3 times, and had the tying run to the plate... but lose 6-3.

Italy beat Mexico 6-5. Sergio Romo blew the save, and Anthony Rizzo hit a two-run double to score the winning run.

Venezuela versus the Dominican Republic. The DR is up 3-0 in the bottom of the first, then the game goes into an almost-hour-long rain delay. Then coming out there is some problem with the baseballs that involves long discussions with both managers, the umpires and Bob Watson, the MLB representative.

And Gary Thorne is already into the Tennessee Honey...
