Avery with his first hit. Almost a homer.

Nice piece of hitting by Avery there. Scorched that ball to RCF.

Congrats to Avery!

I wish Jeter didn't do things that make me like him. He seemed genuinely happy for Xavier on his first hit. I thought he was gonna hand him the ball right there.

Looked like Bonds (I kid), choking up and driving the ball. Showed off the wheels...

Bonds when his hat size still fell in the normal human range.

Avery = real fast.

Hardy RBI single.

Avery is fast, to say the least.

Avery easily scores on Hardy's single back through the box. 1-0 O's.

Does Avery always hold his gloves when running the bases?

Don't know, but that used to be taught. Idea being it would be harder for you to hurt your fingers sliding into bases.

2-0 O's as Jones crushes a double. Thought it was gone.

The ball doesn't seem to want to get out tonight.

I hold mine when running, even in softball. Old habits die hard.
