A friend of mine snagged me a 12 pack of Moose Drool on her cross country road trip. Just picked up Union's new Helles Bock Lager looking forward to trying that later

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Nah she was out picking up Arby's for dinner. By the time she got home six hours later my fries were cold.

After my rough night with 'interesting' beer flavors, I went traditional. Can't go wrong with Weihenstephaner.

It's tasty. A friend of mine is one of the brewers there, responsible for the Dropout Sour IPA https://www.unioncra...roject/dropout/ and the Enchanted Forest Hazy DIPA https://www.unioncra...chanted-forest/. If you're able, pick up directly from Union https://www.unioncra...wing.com/to-go/. Their sales are down to like 60-70% of what they were due to the lack of keg sales to bars. They only get like 1/2 the profit from sales of their beers at stores vs. direct from the brewery.

Great Lake Christmas Ale might be in my top 3 for Winter Beers.

Von Trapp Brewery from Stowe Vt is now distributing in Maryland! I had some of their beers a year and a half ago when I was up in Vermont. Some great traditional German styles. Looking forward to having them again.

3 Floyds Brewing is now distributing their beers in Maryland. They are a highly regarded brewery. I've only had a few of their beers previously but am looking forward to trying more.

Picked up a six pack of Dreadnought, their celebrated imperial IPA. It was very good, but didn't taste a cut above local imperial IPAs despite being ranked near the top of beer advocate.
I have been to 3 Floyds and have also had Dreadnaught while there.
My general stance on this is that many of these breweries that became renowned before and early in the craft beer boom are overrated at this point, especially on a place like Beer Advocate, which blossomed with those breweries. So breweries like 3 Floyds, Founders, Cigar City, Russian River, etc were really good and still are good, but others have caught up with them and in some cases have surpassed them.

The wife and I got over to Mobtown Brewing last Friday and were not disappointed. Their beers are great and the variety and selection at the brewery is even better. The beer of the night for me was "Tiny Purple Fishes" A Belgian Amber that was excellent!

I miss many things about Baltimore and Canton in particular, and living within easy walking distance from Mobtown is definitely one of them. I was on Fait just about 3-4 blocks away. Breweries are great for people with dogs and kids, so we'd often walk down with our dog and/or kid and meet some friends for a few drinks.

I wish Mobtown had the layout Monument City enjoys up the road, tucked behind the building amongst that tree-lined parking lot.

Plenty of good breweries in that list. Having said that, I would love to see the list of all the beers that were entered.
