Cross another one off the Independent Brewery list.  This one hurts:  Founders.  Damn, they make some of my favorite beers their Porter is top notch, now I'll have to look elsewhere.

How great is coors light?

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Had the first sour beers that I liked recently.

From the Dewey Can Company.

One was a pink starburst..literally tastes like that and they soak in 150lbs of pink starburst. That’s like 10%.

The other was some kind of blackberry, blueberry, etc..some kind of combo like that.

Both were excellent but could only drink so many because they are sweet.

Always have a soft spot for Pliny the Younger when I am in SoCal.  For a triple IPA around 12%, it does not have the bite you would expect from it.

I believe you can get Anchor in this area.  If so, I recommend the Anchor California Lager.  It's a little more hazy and amber body lager that you see from bock.  I find it easy to drink and more of a touch crisp finish.

I am always a fan of Firewalker, Cigar City, and Tree House Breweries, espcially the American Stouts from all three lines.

I enjoy ciders just as much these days, big fan of Bold Rock.

Crap.  If someone buys me something the best beer is a free beer! (within reason)

When I'm in SoCal, I love to go to Belching Beaver. They have the Viva la beaver. Such a great spicy stout.

I’m guessing I can’t get the monasteries over in Belgium to deliver me beer?

Nice! They're my favorite MD brewery. At first they weren't delivering to my area but now they are so I'll be ordering some brews from them soon. Full Tilt has some beers that my wife may like so that's another option.

I said local. But if you get an order together let me know and I can Venmo you money for a few bottles.

I have picked up beer from some breweries like Burley Oak, RAR, and Sapwood Cellars.

Not sure if any of you are Summer Shandy fans but the distributors who sell to OPaCY are selling the 16oz cans to some local liquor stores.

We bought a few cases of it. 24, 16oz cans for $28.(at least where I got them)

They sell for like $10 a piece at the stadium, which gives you an idea of how much they make on beer.

I moved to SoCal three years ago, and every time I see Pliny the Elder bottles sitting in a cooler, I can't stop myself from buying one (for like, $6.99, and usually bottled within ~10 days or so). Back east, I'd run into it on draft in Philly once in a blue moon, and a 10oz pour would run something like $10. I do miss some of my east coast locals, but the beer scene out here is ridiculous.

Nice! I've been to my fair share of Philly beer bars and have had some Elder and Younger. I also used to live in Orange County, and yeah, the beer scene is great in CA. Where do you live in SoCal?

I'm jelly. Have you gotten your hands on any Pliny for President? Curious how that compares.

The Elder is definitely on my beer bucket list.

Go up to Philly sometime and use Philly Tap Finder. The Elder is generally on tap somewhere, often at multiple spots. Monk's is typically the best bet from my experience.
