As Jim Palmer just said, he's likely to be the starter. He's a righty with pretty strong reverse splits. Above .700 OPS vs righties. Below .600 vs lefties.
Also is making 3 mil this year. Not complete chump change to pick up the 2 mil left this year

Great, so we trade for a guy who can't hit for power, can't walk, has struck out nearly 1/4 of the times he comes to bat...Sounds like a "starter" to me. BLECK!

I'd rather we start The Clev if we can't add a SOLID catcher...however, they ain't a dime a dozen in this league.

Outside MIMS, I don't think there's exactly a good option. I always enjoy the "let's get a better backup catcher" discussions though. If only we could be talking about that now.

Really not a bad option at all considering the cost, and the time of year we traded for him. I'll take it.

He will fit right in! How does he do with low and away sliders??

The bottom line is they are likely playing without Wieters for another month or so, if he does come back.
And, they might like Hundley as a backup more than what we currently have.
And Patton is a dime a dozen guy...can be good sometimes...terrible other times.

We got a slightly better C than Clevenger for $2 million. Ok, I guess.
Well unless the O's are paying some of it, you have to subtract what Patton was due, which off the top of my head is around 1.2M.

@FollowThePadres Market for Hundley in April/early May was zero, but framing improvements with AGM A.J. Hinch (former C), led to big gains. #Padres #Orioles
