Obviously I know many here (myself included) take their music pretty seriously and enjoy discussing it.

But what is your favorite song to play with the windows down and cruising down the highway or back road?  I've given several choices, but I'll admit that it's possible that there are other correct answers.

Taj Mahal - Leaving Trunk

Can't say I was familiar with that one, but after listening to it - excellent choice.

I realized I forgot to add one - maybe the best one - Tuesday's Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I'm going to see this insanely good Led Zeppelin cover band at Rams Head in June. Can't wait.

Honestly, I'm more of a somber, chill driver... I really enjoy listening to Neil Young in the car.

Wow - some very good choices here.

My mood when driving can vary - I either want something really fast and upbeat (hence Fat Bottomed Girls and Walk of Life) or more melancholic (Tuesday's Gone, Hotel California).  One day I might love cruising to one of those songs, the next I might not want to hear it at all.

I once committed a relatively minor but still embarrassing traffic violation because I was listening too closely to "Hollywood Nights" by Bob Seger.

Absolutely this.

Some of my others are spawned by film. Gimmie Some Lovin by Spencer Davis Group. I mean its featured in two movies about driving. (Days of Thunder, Rush, three if you count The Blues Brothers). Also like New Dawn Fades by Moby. The song from Heat when Pacino chases down De Niro right before, thee, meeting.
