I like those. I still think of Opening Day as the first Monday with all the day games and in the old days, the national championship game being played that night.

What I hate is the international openers a week before.

I don't care for it. Opening Day is Opening Day. Period.

I'm with Seth on "Old Kentucky Home".  Love that.  Also used to love Jim McKay's call of "Down the stretch they come!"

Wasn't that Dave Johnson? (not the Orioles pitcher)

I know this sounds weird, but I've always had a special place in my heart for the 11:00am Patriots' Day game at Fenway. There's something really great about a morning baseball game.

I think it's cool how they do it with the Marathon, will have even more meaning this year. Nats have been doing 11 AM Independence Day games for a few years. (late) Breakfast/baseball seems weird to me.

I like that too..

Simmons always talks about how the Women dress at that game too..They wear the sundresses, dressing "summery" looking all pretty. He considers that the real beginning of spring.

Terps football team running out and rubbing Testudo's nose is one of the more unique traditions in sports (I know I'm biased).

I've always loved Tennessee football's traditions. From running through the "T" to slapping the "I will give my all for Tennessee today" sign in the locker room to what I believe is the best fight song in all of college sports, "Rocky Top".

Sticking with college football, Auburn releasing the "war eagle", FSU's seminole warrior, USC's trojan warrior, and Oklahoma's "sooner schooner" and Texas' "Big Bertha".

College football has some of the absolute best traditions in all of sports, and is one of the biggest reasons why it's my favorite sport.

They think they are going to an SEC or UVA football game?

College football has the best team-based traditions of any sport IMO. It seems like every team has their own unique thing.

I know there is a segment of even Baltimore sports fans that find it disrespectful, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned the "Ohhhhh!!!" during the National Anthem. As someone who lives outside the region and attends O's/Ravens/Terps games far away from home, hearing it always lets me know that I'm not alone. (And yes, I do it too.)

Good one! How could no one have said that yet??
