Pedro Strop to the Reds..
They're winning this division.
And a 35 year old Pedro Strop is going to put them over the edge for you?

JR House is the third base coach of the Reds.
If you remember this name, hopefully you're laughing right now.

Really wasn't expecting them to start 1-3, especially dropping a series to the Tigers. They were my division favorite going into the year.

The Thom Brennaman mid-apology HR call is absolutely bonkers.
That guy pulled a Brockmire!

I always enjoy the empty apologies these people give afterward.
Good news! I saw a dog today.

Absolutely love the "it was a mistake!" defense that some people are trotting out for him, like Thom botched a player's name or position. The only mistake here is that...he didn't know he was on the air.

Thing is, he was comfortable enough to speak like that to those who could hear him. That tells me it'd been going on for a while. Maybe somebody went live to really drop the floor out from under him, knowing full-well he'd fasten his own noose?

I hate when people apologize by saying "that's not who I am."
It's absolutely who you are.

I see Fox removed him from their NFL broadcast schedule. I was curious how they would handle that.
Good news! I saw a dog today.

If it wasn’t who you are then you wouldn’t have said it in the first place. Didn’t he also have another statement where he said he didn’t realize the hurt that term could cause or something? Yeah ok.
I just read that follow up apology. He said he had no idea about the history of that word. It seemed like he was trying to say he had no idea what that word means. He was shredded, because he seemed far more focused on doing whatever he needs to, to keep his job, rather than his sincerity of regret. The article also dug into his broadcast history, and pointed out a few other times where he had to make an on air apology for things he'd said.
I remember listening to him call portions of Cubs games on WGN. I still remember how he decided to phrase the fact that he was leaving WGN to call NFL games. He said, "I'm going on to bigger and better things". And there was no chuckle or follow up banter Steve Stone (I think was with him in the booth that day) to suggest that he was joking around. The guy just seems like a douche bag
Good news! I saw a dog today.

The Reds are 3-19, and have been outscored by 65 runs.
They've allowed 132 runs, or 77 more than the Dodgers have allowed.
