Should've traded him in the offseason or after his hot start. Hes been pretty awful since May/June.

Haha. At what point do you think Andino had more value than a PTBNL?

He has been hitting horrible since May, no doubt about that.

I remember hearing that he was getting alot of interest over the offseason. Maybe that wasn't the case but if we could've gotten a mid level prospect or two I would've taken it. I was never sold on Andino despite his late season heroics last season. I'll always be grateful for what he did in game 162 but he doesn't provide much other than solid defense. Not bad as a bench player, not good as a starter.

Who would you have liked to see internally as B-Rob insurance and Opening Day starter at 2nd? Or externally, who would you have suggested come in and at what cost?

Prior to the season I would've said some combination of Greg Miclat/Ryan Adams/Ryan Flaherty or sign someone to a minor league or cheap deal. Obviously Miclat was traded and Adams got hurt but its not hard to find a place holder on Andino's level while you wait for Roberts to get healthy and/or find a more permanent solution like we're doing now.

Personally I was clammoring for Kelly Johnson last offseason. This offseason, I'd like to see the O's go after Marco Scutaro. Haven't seen the entire list of free agents though. I'm all for signing Robinson Canon though.

Andino was 2 for 4 with an RBI, and a sacrifice today.

As I've said previously in this thread, I think he is better than he has shown this year, but what a brutal year overall.

True... but Buck has apparently decided that he's the most nugget-like of his various 2B options... the other guys are mainly keeping the dugout crowded...

Yep..but that's not saying much judging by the second base competition.

The BROb decision this offseason needs to be made quickly.

I'm guessing they already made it... not that they have any reason to tell us...

I doubt it...gotta see how he is doing.

Can't see bringing him back personally but you owe him 10 million...that's a lot of money to eat and I doubt he retires or takes a buyout.

Well, if so, that's a decision...

That's why I think he'll be back atleast roster and payroll wise. Doesn't mean you can't go out and get someone else and if somehow B-Rob works out, it's a good problem to have!
