If you want your 25-1 fix for the day go put it on the Ravens or Steelers to win the SB. its a lock one of the two, if not both, will be in the playoffs. Both teams and QBs have proven they can win anytime they get there.

Apparently, he still needs to actually get the points to get in the race. Let alone stay healthy and such. I think 75-1 this time last year was great. You had value at the time with Constitution. I dont think the price is right.

Granted, I say that only from a logical betting perspective and novice horse racing person.

In theory, you're spot on. he could run like crap in the Florida Derby and not even get in the Derby...

Meanwhile, Constitution is a god damn monster as a 4 year old!

I'll definitely play him, but wish I'd have seen him before yesterday. Odds were 150-1 on Saturday.

Nah, don't care enough about football, plus it's long wait. I'll know the Derby result in 2 minutes.

Seth - Do you actually really like horse racing, or is it just something you have to study up on because of your work?

Ok, I'm at it again...I think I saw the Derby winner for 2105 yesterday...His name is Khozan...He is currently 25-1.

I'll be sure to tell my great grand kids about it.

I would love to have the bank roll to do this on a regular basis. Read up on some handicapping tips. I got really into it over the summer and during the preakness made mock bets with myself on each race. Did so again for Belmont. Had it been for real, I would have lost my shirt. So i gave up.

But it was so much fun. Your right. Decoding a racing forum is a real art and when your horse actually hits, its am amazing feeling.

That's a GREAT post, Mike.

I love it, always have. Yeah, hitting a big race, especially a long shot is one of life's great feelings adrenaline wise.

Do you do a lot of work from home, or frequently go to the track? If you go to the track, I assume you go to the paddock. Do you look at the way a horse looks before betting, or is it all in the info from the forum? The previous workouts and such?

I don't go as much as I used to, but yea, sometimes I like to look at how a horse is acting in the paddock, though the past performances, workouts, pedigree, and certain changes in distance are things I look at a lot more.

There are things you can look for, pricked ears means confidence and they're happy. If they're biting their pony during the post parade, that's another good sign usually.

I think I saw the Derby winner today..

The horse is called Constitution.

just wanted that on the record a few months before the Derby.

It took 6 years, but Tiz The Law is out of Constitution, I have finally been vindicated!!!

No, I didn't even bet the race, this horse just looked too good. No one else in the field looked competitive.

I kind of liked the 2 a little, so i'm glad I skipped it. He ran like doo doo.
