This season has been tremendous

Definitely an uptick from the last season. Last season was my least favorite. Really pulling for Shawn and Fiona. Her fucking things up has been getting old, and she's walking that tight rope all season. Gonna be mad if Frank pulls off his apparent plan. 

 

FWIW, the British series ran 11 seasons. Wonder if there is any signs of slowing down now through six.  It's by this point most shows have hit their wall. So I'm real glad to see this season was much better.

 

I love the Kev character, and he's been on point all season.

Every story line has been awesome this season. And the weaker story lines, like Debbie going to a commune, have at least been funny.

Season 9 airs September 9th. Going to be two, seven episode parts with a 2 month break in the middle. 

 

Also going to be Emmy Rossum's final season. Be interesting to see how they send her off.

Kevin and V should have their own spin off. Easily my favorite part of the show.

It really sucks when quality shows have such bad endings. Or at least endings that don't do the overall show justice. So many of my favorite shows over the years have deteriorated greatly in the later seasons and sort of crashed and burned to the finish line.

Finally binged the last season over the weekend. Show still makes me laugh. But the A.V. Club articles are spot on. The writers forget that things already happen. They write storylines that make no sense. They introduce major plot points and then by the next episode it’s like, never happened.

Would still happily welcome a Kev and V spin off. Honestly think they are the glue that held the last few seasons together, especially after Rossum left the show.
