My wife and kids have been bugging for a treadmill for a while now.   I've been researching and have found the following:

1.  You get what you pay for.  There are definitely tiers of quality.

2.  Lower end treadmills are good for walking, but not so much for running.

3.  Most of these companies apparently have horrible customer service, judging by reviews.

I've been keeping an eye on Craigslist, but lately I've been on a roll of getting burned with used stuff and having to spend more in the long run, so I'm gun shy.

I'm thinking that, between my wife, my two teenage daughters, and my almost teenage son, this thing is going to get lots of use.   However, they are all small people (under 150 lbs).  I'm planning to keep my big butt off of it to avoid the extra wear and tear ;)  I'll be using the gym.

So far I'm thinking about the Pro-Form 995, or the Sole F65.

Any advice?   I'd like to stay under $1,000, but I'm open to spending a little more.

Getting the cheap ones at a place like Dicks aren't worth it.

Getting a really good one, a commerical one or something like that is good.
