Yankees fans got swept out of the playoffs and had to endure a Ted Cruz troll. Yikes. I am surprised they didn't throw D batteries at him.

The Yankees managed just 21 hits and struck out 50 times in the four games against Houston. Their .161 postseason batting average is the lowest in MLB history. They're lucky to have gotten past Cleveland.

Anthony Rizzo expected to opt out.
Expected. He would be a target for me. Maybe my top target as far as position players. I expect the Os to stay with Mountcastle though

If Rizzo does opt out, a return to the Cubs is highly probable.

Yeah, we need more mid-30s, DH/1B types.

We don't have anyone fitting that description?

I think that was a gag reflex to Chris Davis Syndrome.

Mountcastle is a righty where righty bats will go to die. Plus his youth/service time makes him an attractive trade chip.
Rather have Rizzo and whatever Mountcastle+ gets you in return, than Mountcastle and Jesus Aguilar.

Rizzo would be a left handed bat in a lefty friendly ballpark. Durable. Pretty consistent hitter. Gold glove defender.

I promise you don’t have to worry about Aguilar being here.

Rizzo recovering from back injury, is going to impact his market value.

I think a left handed 1B would be a good opportunity for this team.
I'm not sure. It seems like the team is already left-handed hitter heavy. Where's the right-handed power going to come from? Camden Yards may not be all that friendly to right-handed power anymore, but you still have to play half your games on the road.

If they win all 81 at home, they only need to come up with about 19 road wins.

they dont play any road games in stadiums with short left field porches.

I’m not sure how much trade value Mountcastle would have TBH. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try and upgrade. I think a left handed 1B would be a good opportunity for this team.
Tampa may be interested. Choi is a lefty, but he isn't as productive against RHP. RM is better against RHP, so a 1B platoon/DH situation may be perfect for the Rays, especially since they're all about cost controlled players. And they will certainly be able to handoff a nice return to the O's, given their never ending supply of quality prospects
Good news! I saw a dog today.

Rizzo re-signs with the Yanks. 2/34, plus a 2025 team option with a $6M buyout.

The Giants have reportedly offered Aaron Judge $360 million, according to MLBtraderumors.com, although it's not clear how many years are involved. The Yankees are said to be at $300 million, while the Orioles are said to have offered Judge a minor league deal to be re-negotiated if he makes the team out of spring training.
