It's interesting that Tampa draws more fans than Miami, since the Marlins have that snazzy new ballpark. But I suppose the stadium itself isn't enough to put asses in the seats, when the team is so terrible for so long.

It seems like they have a dedicated fan base, but no one is going to sit in that dreadful dome. I went to a game at the Trop. It was clean, and had wonderful murals of the Florida landscape. But it's just a dreary place to watch a game.

It's a dreary place to watch a game, ironically enough being so close to the picturesque beaches along the Gulf of Mexico, but it's also on the wrong side of the Bay.

IMO, the Marlins don't deserve a fanbase after the # of times they've sold off assets (fire sales).

I have been to a game at the Trop.  Plain and simple it is not a baseball facility.  I had a real hard time watching pop ups and fly balls.

We sat behind home plate and it was impossible for me to see the ball.

The first time I went there, it was to see the Lightning play. Talk about a strange set up, they had long black curtains all around the temporary, metal stands to enclose it from the vast cavern of the entire building.

Good news! I saw a dog today.

McClanahan going down is massive. I never root for injuries, but the Rays may have just lost the best pitcher in the AL.

They’ve probably identified a nearby grocery store clerk with nasty spin rate who will step in and post a sub-2 ERA down the stretch.

Speaking of which Evan Phillips, yes that Evan Phillips, is one of the best relievers in baseball for the Dodgers.

Dimly lit stadium I’m telling you.

Exhibit A why you trade a guy like Lopez

They’re off to a 10-0 start. Already a cool 4 game lead in the ALE. They are healthy and clicking on all cylinders. Peak, full health 100% Rays are fun and really good.

That whole pitching staff is just ridiculous.

The Rays are like the old Braves.  If a pitcher is on the roster, they immediately become good.  If their hitting holds up, they may win the division.

They will get Glasnow back in a few weeks and their staff will get better.

I went to look at their top pitching prospects for my fantasy league, to try and stash one or two. They’re already rostered/stashed. And someone from this board is trying to run away with the fantasy league already, buoyed by Springs and Rasmussen. My auto draft didn’t get the memo, lol.
