Halloween season and that means horror movies. Lots and lots of horror movies.

The Wild Card Series was boring, but there were a few scenes of terror that will stay with me for years. Cowser striking out with the bases loaded on a ball that hit him is up there with the dinner scene from Texas Chainsaw.

Late Night with the Devil was an inventive found-footage style film that didn't entirely stick the landing but made for an exciting and unnerving viewing.

In a Violent Nature was a lot like the Wild Card Series. Nothing happens for large swaths of the film and then BAM you're witnessing some of the gnarliest stuff ever put on film.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Rewatched "The Blair Witch Project" recently, still a fun movie.   O man I remember the buzz about it to when there  was the uncertainty over if it was real or not.

If you don't listen to The Rewatchables podcast, you should check out the recent one they did on the Blair Witch movie.

I heard that this Terrifier 3 movie is literally making people vomit.

Pass.

I do, not as much as I used to, but that episode is what made me watch it again.

I just watched the first two for the first time. Definitely gory and gratuitous. But the effects are really good for the amount of money they made these movies for. And the guy who plays Art is probably the best ever performance from a guy playing a slasher villian.

The cinematography in Alien: Romulus is top notch.  That's the best looking movie I've seen in a while, even better than Dune II.

I don’t know if I go that far but I agree that Romulus looked amazing. And for only $80M!!!

I watched Poltergeist for the first time last night. Had been a film that slipped through the cracks. It was good, very well made...definitely had that Spielberg vibe to it. But not very scary.

My only complain was that it was about 20-30 minutes too long. Some of those scenes went on for far too long but I think it's the best movie I've seen so far this year.

There were definitely stretches that didn't move the plot forward but I didn't care cuz I was having fun hanging with all the characters.

Saw it today and I agree, it's got nominations coming for picture, director, actor, cinematography, writing, score, and best supporting actor coming its way.

How terrible and expensive have movies become? Red One looks awful, cost $300M to make and is getting bad reviews. Wicked looks CGIed to all hell and probably cost as much to make.

Bring back the days of the $30M drama and thriller!

Manhunter is a freaking banger. I love Michael Mann. It sucks that he's kind of fallen off. Ferrari was just meh.
