No Time to Die was good, not great. Very long, never boring, but not exactly thrilling either. There are two really good set pieces: the Cuba scene with Ana de Armas (who is in the movie ten minutes and is already a million times more sexy and enthralling than Bond's love interest) and the last 25 or so minutes of the movie. The rest is cruise control for the most part. The villain is pretty weak and lacked a motivation I thought they could have used from a previous film.

I really enjoyed Daniel Craig as Bond but it's a shame they only made 2 very good movies with him and could never top Casino Royale. Skyfall came close, though.

Pretty much how I feel. I thought Ana was touted as this ones “Bond girl” and she’s not in it nearly enough.

I felt like the movie played like the greatest hits for 90 minutes with some of the usual Bond troupes that give these movie their charm. Like the car, the Ana shootem up sequence. The Jamaica stuff, bringing back some fun characters. Then it went a different direction and I’m not sure how I feel about it still. Good but not great for sure.

Rami Malek was still doing Freddie Mercury for the first few minutes we see him and his tone noticeably changed later.

SEMI-SPOILER

I was hoping they'd make Safin Vesper's boyfriend. In Casino Royale they mention that her boyfriend, a French Algerian, was kidnapped by the group that eventually came to be SPECTRE and it forced Vesper into the plot to work with Bond. I kept waiting for that motivation to be revealed since it would have given him extra incentive to pursue Bond. That reveal never came.

As for where does Bond go next?

What Does the Next Era of James Bond Look Like?

I wouldn't mind seeing them go back to the 60s and play up that era -- the fashion, the politics, the intrigue -- but still ground the action in semi-realism like the Craig movies did. Like the article says, Bond has always been about escapism, so let's go to a different era to escape because the present is a little too crazy.

Just don't make it like The Kingsman.

Feels like an imitation of the dark knight in story and feel. Not necessarily bad but certainly not exploring new territory

Saw it last night. Enjoyed the first hour or so. After that it felt like a movie that was going to have a sequel to wrap things up, thus lacking a third act.

Still, there were some effective sequences and brutal death scenes.

The Tommy character pretty much sucked. I’d say other than that it was good, but it’s a major part of the movie.

The flashback scenes to the original Halloween night in 1978 were very well done. The Loomis actor they used was perfect. Great make-up and practical effects. De-aging actors or using CGI never feels or looks real.

Halloween II is perhaps my favorite in the series, so writing it out of these films always bugged me but I did like the parts where the people of Haddonfield realized these murders were taking place in 2018 in real time. That was always my favorite part of Halloween II.

I loved the cinematography on Dune.  Villeneuve consistently nails that and has such gravitas to his work.

Liked the movie a lot, but it ends right when it was getting really good.  They better make part 2.  Really strong performances all around.  Rebecca Ferguson and Stellan Skarsgard were doing work.

Dune sequel set for 2023.

Guess it's doing well, that was quick.
