I am going to be flying this weekend and I want to rent some movies from iTunes to watch on the plane. I have never done this before and I am wondering if I will be able to watch them without a Wi-Fi connection. I know you download them, and you have 30 days to watch the movie, and 24 hours to finish it from the time you begin watching it. So I think I would be able to watch them without an internet connection but I wanted to be sure. Anyone know?
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

If they are already downloaded not sure why you'd need a WiFi connection to watch them?

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

That's my thought.

But I was wondering if you needed the internet connection so iTunes would be able to know when you started watching it so they could delete it, etc.

I just wanted to be sure before I rented a bunch of movies and then found out that I needed to have wi-fi to watch them.

Thanks for the link, but now I am more confused than ever.

Sounds like more typical BS from Apple that defeats the purpose of having a mobile device like an iPad.

It's so frustrating.

If you have any doubts, maybe watch the very beginning of a movie or two while you're in the airport (you can usually find free Wifi in most of the ones I've been in) and then watch them on the plane.

I read people saying to do that, but still, it's a pretty dumb thing to have to do.

Sorry, that was the first link in a Google search and I thought it sounded helpful. It sounds to me like you shouldn't have an issue, though.

I posted a question that pertains to me and got a one word answer that says that I won't have a problem. We shall see but my hopes are not high, as you can probably tell from my past views on the O's.

Yeah, their services like this are difficult to figure out sometimes. Although I've been a big fan of the iTunes matching service they rolled out last year. However, even with that service, they don't "stream" the music like Google Music, instead, when you listen to an iTunes match song, they download it to your device as you're listening to it. So once a month or so you have to go in and delete all the downloads so that they don't take up all your storage. Just annoying little crap like that that apple does that drives me crazy. I've never rented from iTunes, so sorry, I have no info on that.
