Ate at Thames Street Oyster Bar on Friday night. Awesome lobster roll. Wife got the scallops and loved the risotto it came with. Ranked #2 on TripAdvisor for Baltimore restaurants. Well deserved.

Went to Charleston a few years ago, spent a ton of money, and dont remember being that impressed. I would go to Woodberry Kitchen or Thames Street Oyster before I would go back to Charleston.

Had a great dinner at Charleston for our Anniversary a couple of years back. Went to Woodberry for Laura's bday this March, we both were disappointed. Good, just surprised it was ranked as high as it was.

I'd like to try Thames Street, always hear good things.

I think the issue was that I ordered some stuff I had never had before at Charleston and it was just iffy. I am sure if I went with a good old standby it would been better. Oh well, I will probably make it back one day.

Wit and Wisdom in the Four Seasons hotel was amazing. Huge menu, all good options. You can spend big or small. Tons of options and in the summer the outdoor patio will be great.

I mainly go to Talara to drink during Happy Hour, but their Bento Boxes aren't bad at all.

I've hit up the Olive Grove quite a few times...down Hammonds Ferry. One of my favorite spots. Their steaks are surprisingly great.

Also in Catonsville is Matthews 1600. Doesn't belong in a discussion of 'top restaurants', but a good neighborhood place. Nice bar, good for a casual HH.

What do you think about GL Shacks? My brother moved to Catonsville last year, so we've gone out there a few times whenever I've gone down there to visit (I live in Montgomery County). I don't think it's anything to write home about, but their Jerk Chicken appetizer is ridiculously good. I got intoxicated one night there and I'm pretty sure they charged me $17 for a pitcher of Yuengling, so that pissed me off.

Also - Any suggestions for a nice, low key/pub to go to before an O's game with my dad and brother? We've gone to Pratt Street Ale House the last couple years, and enjoy it there, and we don't want to do a Pickles/Sliders scene because it's just too crowded/crazy, and isn't for my dad really. So I'd like a place with a good atmosphere, but not crazy, but wanna try something different than PSAH. Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated. Still want to do Baltimore locals though, not inner harbor chain crap.

I liked it the few times I have been there...the bartenders were nice (and one was smoking hot) and I like the open air feel of the bar when they have the big window open. I like the old school tub they pack beer bottles into behind the bar, and it just feels like a true local tavern. So it gets points there for me.

I was at Shacks Saturday night and for whatever reason a bunch of guys were watching the US Open on the big screens with the sound up while Hammel was pitching a no hitter into the 7th inning. That pissed me off. Then a DJ came in and started playing the loudest music known to man. If it had gone to the 8th inning and Hammel still had the no-no, I was going to tell the bartender to cut the music and put the sound of the game on. And if they didn't, I would have vowed to never go back.

I love to play golf and all, but I'm sorry, it should never be on the main TV at a bar, with the sound on...especially while the O's are playing.

Has anyone tried out Of Love and Regret yet? They just opened up a few weeks ago where Natty Boh Lounge used to be, right at the base of the tower in Canton. I'm more interested in going to sample the abundance of Stillwater Artisinal brews they have on tap, but the menu looks pretty delicious as well.
