This team wouldn't be playing in the playoffs?
How many Orioles playoff games did you watch on MASN last year?

Isn't the first round of the playoffs on local RSNs excluding national telecasts? O's also had pre/post game playoffs stuff on MASN.

No, because they're all national telecasts: TBS, FOX and MLBN.
Some local outlets have pre- and post-game programming without the game: CSN for the Ravens, for example.

NBA playoff games are all nationally televised, even the 1st Round games. Most are TNT or ESPN/ABC, although I think several might be on NBATV.

I'm talking about the NBA games not the MLB ones.

That's new right? I'm not sure since the Wizards haven't been in the playoffs in a while, but I thought they had games on CSN.
Yeah games are on NBATV.

Not sure how new (it has been a looooong time for the Wizards), but yeah, there was a time when 1st and even 2nd Round games were on RSNs. But they all fall under the NBA's national broadcast agreements now.

Well just 2008, but it seems like awhile. I know NHL first round games are on RSNs, thought it was the same thing with the nBA.

I gotcha. I do think it's the same, though, as others mentioned.

Yeah just clarifying that with your comment, I thought it was similar to the NHL, but it looks like that isn't the case.

@BenRaby31 #Caps won't return for Baltimore Hockey Classic in 2014. All preseason home games will be played at Verizon Center http://www.csnwashin...ey-classic-2014 …
Remesch dismissed the plexiglas incident as something that could have happened in any hockey game in any arena, but acknowledged that the ice conditions must be better if the Baltimore Arena hosts a future Caps game.
“It was sort of perfect storm with the temperature and the humidity,” Remesch said, “but we’re better off now than we were and we would definitely want them back. I know that now they’ve got some new people coming in, some new management [personnel], so it’s also a matter of it making sense for them. But we’d like to have them back.”

Smart move.

That game was overpriced and the arena is a dump.

Are the tickets any more expensive to what they'd be for the a preseason game at Verizon? Considering it's a smaller arena, don't they have to in theory charge more to make up for lost revenue?

I THINK they were a little cheaper because its just an exhibition and its kind of a dump. Dont know though.
Do the Caps charge less money for exhibitions at Verizon or is it NFL style where you are paying regular season prices for exhibition games?
I get why they would play in Baltimore even at a financial to "grow the game" but at this point they've already had two of them in recent years AND it's not safe. Get a new arena and it should comeback.

Good. It's obvious that as long as they can draw events to the arena that the state and city leaders will have no incentive to replace it. It would be great if all of the people behind these sporting events and concerts could stage an unofficial boycott. Only if that were to happen (or the unlikely event that DC/Balt win an Olympic bid) would a new arena finally be built.

I think the fact that the arena is so profitable hurt the prospects for a new arena. If they couldn't book any concerts or the circus stopped coming, they would have built a new one by now.
