Good call. She really did.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

Looks like Jon Bernhardt (who I think used to occasionally write for this site) was let go from The Athletic.

Yeah the Atlantic seemed like they were hedging bets a little bit when they launched and had a good group of independent freelancers writing for them in addition to all the big names. I think they were hoping they could use them to fill content until they had a large enough roster to cover things. Seems like they've gotten rid of the entire freelancer side of things, I know a few writers in multiple locations that were let go all at the same time.
Matt K. who write for Camden Depot the past couple years was one of them too.
I really wish they would have kept that program, it's a really good way to help the independent guys along and works as like a working resume.

As heard on 98 Rock this morning (4/30). Keith Mills is calling quits as a full time sports reporter on WBAL TV/radio and 98 Rock effective 6/28. Says he will still do Ravens pre/post game shows and fill in occasionally. He says after 40 years of doing local sports on TV/radio it is time to pull back the reins.

I don't think it's public knowledge yet, but I've heard that Keith Mills plans on retiring next year.

Good for him. He and Garceau along with Vince Bagli were the voices of my youth. Chuck Thompson on the radio, Brooksie doing color on TV and saying "he's had a great month of JOO-ly", which I always got a kick out of.

Mills was on with Garceau late last week.
Pretty good radio as they went down memory road.

What's everyone think of Bobby Trosset, the new sports guy in the morning on WBAL radio? He's a Loyola Greyhound alum but grew up in upstate NY (Albany). Tough spot replacing Mills. I haven't been too impressed by him so far, but he's young so I'm willing to give him some time.

I haven't listened, so maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds like Brit Ghiroli had sort of a me too moment with an unnamed O's player a few years ago.

I listened to this today, really good, and I'm a fan of hers. Moreso after today.
I have an idea based on how she described the player, but won't speculate here.
