I did not care for the song at the end, but that's basically my only criticism of that episode.

My snap reaction when it started was not to like it, but I thought it was an interesting send-off to a good character (and actor). And as I've seen pointed out in several reviews/discussions, Don has had these kinds of visions before (notably Anna Draper), so it isn't out of character for either Don or the show.

But did he have those kind of visions when he was wide awake and totally coherent? I don't recall.

Pretty sure. They only did the speed episode the one time.

I keep thinking of Pete saying "I've got ten!" And laughing to myself. He has the best delivery. "Not great Bob!"

Ugh, Elizabeth Reaser. She annoys me for some reason.

A tough episode. A lot of whining and assholey stuff from the shiitiest of characters.

I love this show but I am glad there are only 4 episodes left.

Was pretty dark.

I don't know how you wrap things up in 4 episodes.  Maybe one chapter in the lives of these people end, opening new beginnings I guess.

See people want a Peggy (who would be 76 in 2015) and Joan spinoff...  I think anything they (the show creators did) would be good, but the interesting part was seeing all of the characters go through that changing decade.

Would be cool to see more of the characters, and how things further evolve for them in the 70s, and on...

Or a show which jumps to the 80s, and flashes back to scenes from '70 on showing how they got to where they were in the '80s.

What needs to be wrapped up exactly? This isn't Lost where questions have been left unanswered. These people are who they are.

I think people are expecting a payoff from a show that rarely had any. So I think the next 4 episodes are just more of them same for the most part.

It goes back to The Sopranos, which Wiener was a writer on.

I think Mad Men is a snippet of these people's lives. I doubt there's anything other than perhaps a flash-forward showing viewers how much these people haven't changed.

Yeah, I actually fully agree with you.

It's everyday lives for these people... I agree they don't need everything wrapped up in a bow.

That is kind of my point as well... it will be hard to wrap things up, their lives will continue.

Also agree that the payoff is the little everyday moments.

That said, I think I saw Weiner say he expects a significant reaction (and mixed reviews) for the Final...
