I'm not sure any of them carve out much of a MLB career but if you had to lay your chips down on one of these guys who you going with??? All are 22 or 23 year old OFs at different levels. Avery, the youngest, is at AAA Norfolk, Hoes is at AA Bowie, Mummey, the oldest at at Hi A Fredrick.

Even though he's the oldest playing at the lowest level I think I'd probably go with Mummey. Really, nothing but gut as I've seen none of the 3 play in person. Just like Mummey's ability to get on base and I think he could have more pop than either of the other two along with solid defense and speed. IMO, the best all around player of the 3.

Note that I've always been a fan of Hoes but his inability to stay at 2b has downgraded him in my book. On the other hand, I've never been real big on Avery even though he's generally been the highest ranked and has moved the fastest and is the youngest. Gut feeling is he tops out as a AAAA player but he's off to a solid start at AAA this year.

Avery, easy pick. I didn't like what I saw of Hoes this season, Mummey I had hopes for but he can't stay healthy so I worry. Avery if he puts it together has the highest ceiling.

If he could stay healthy, Mummey is the answer for me.

Avery has most upside but I never thought he would be anything more than a 4th OFer at best.

I have no thought that Hoes will be anything anymore.

I don't really have any hopes for any of these guys though.

I've always had hopes for Avery, I could see him being Mike Cameron-esque.

Suprised but happy to see a couple of votes for Mummey. Mummey takes the best of Hoes (plate discipline) and Avery (basestealing ability and speed). I agree that Mummey probably has the most pop out of the three. I also think he's got better basestealing instincts than Avery. Mummey's defense is supposed to be good in CF but I think it's still questionable who is better out there. Avery has apparently improved in that area over the years. Mummey is off to a slow start but I expect him to heat up shortly. Best long range player should be Mummey.

Avery, if for no other reason than his awesome name. Youngest at the highest level is a strong indicator as well.

When people mention Cameron I think power/speed combo with very good defense and a solid OBP despite a low BA.

You really believe Avery can get on base at a decent clip and develop say 15 HR power at the big league level?? For that matter, can he be a plus defender in CF??

I don't think he'll be a plus defender, but he's improved enough that he can stay at CF. If you look around the league there are a ton of teams that would like to have a .275 hitting 10-15 HR and stealing 20-30 bases. I think that's where he ends up if things keep clicking...but that's a big IF.

This is also how I feel, but I'm lukewarm on all 3.

I think Davis, and Ruettiger will be on the heals of this group shortly.

I agree with Allstar... Avery. My confidence level with Avery is only so-so, but it's higher than either of the other two.

I'd take LJ Hoes bat over all of them.
They'll find a position for him. His bat shows more promise than the others I think.

I like all three though, but Avery has a bunch of flaws still with the bat, and is striking out way too much.
(As Don pointed out on twitter, Avery could technically still be in college, so that is a positive to note)
Mummey has been an enigma the last year or so, especially with the injury. I just need to see a little more before I put him above Hoes and even Avery
