Has anyone watched Perry Mason on HBO? It stars Matthew Rhys from The Americans, which was an outstanding show in its own right.

It's set in 1930s LA. Pretty compelling show.

Anyone else checked out Slow Horses on Apple TV+? Not really a surprise it's great when it has Gary Oldman in it. I'm impressed so far.

It's an A+ show

I liked S1 better than S2, but all in all it's a solid show.

Succession and Yellowjackets back tonight.

Excited for both.  I am more or less out on TV these days -- too many shows -- but the ones I have started I will see to the end.

Wu-Tang: An American Saga ended last night.

It was 3 seasons. Seasons 2 and 3 were great. It's not going to come close to elite TV and it has some very mediocre episodes, but it was a blast. The cast is great and if you were a fan of the music you'll probably love this show.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I've seen the first two, hadn't realized the third was out. I enjoyed it and look forward to watching the next (final?) season. Agree it isn't at the level of great TV, some fairly clunky storylines when they get away from the music, but it's captivating when they're dealing with the music and artists. The actors playing ODB and Raekwon are great.

Dave season 3 started last night, quietly one of the best shows from the last five years.

Just started Schmigadoon. A couple episodes in and it's good. It's like Big Fish meets Glee, but if Glee were written by funny writers and for adults.

A+ casting, too.

ETA: S1 was fantastic. S2 just started, and it's now called Schmicago.

Rabbit/Hole (Keifer Sutherland) on Paramount+ is pretty good. So far through two episodes anyway.

Good news:  Dunk and Egg is coming to HBO!

Bad news:  Dunk and Egg is another unfinished series from Martin

Here's his take on it if you are interested, I have mixed feelings on this.  The 3 stories that are finished are fun, and should be great to see on TV. But I have almost zero belief that we get any more of these books.  The frustrating thing is the Dunk and Egg books are more straightforward and he could have easily finished one or two more in the 12 years since Dance came out and he worked on Winds.

I would have been fine if we didn't get more Good Omens, but the second season has been so incredibly pleasant so far.

First 3 episodes of the second season of Wheel of Time came out today.   I watched the first one.  It wasn't very good, but I'll keep watching because I enjoyed the books but I'm not expecting much.

The first season was so bad, I don't think I want to continue.  I've heard it's better, but with the bar that low it's a bit of a hurdle.  I don't need to watch them butcher a great fantasy epic.

I liked the books and I like the show. Probably in a pretty small part of the venn diagram, but I've never had an issue with shows diverging from source material as long as they get the general spirit right and I think this is doing that. Pretty obvious that things are gonna get further from the books in season 2, rather than closer. I'm interested to see where they take it.

I enjoyed the first season for the most part. Enough to read the first book. With fantasy I'm either all in or get bored quickly and I think the familiarity from the show helped me with the first book but I bowed out half way through the second. Maybe the show will get me to pick it back up again.
